About Me
I am originally from Long Island, New York. I attended high school there and went on to attend Hofstra University, where I received a BA in biology. From there, I entered the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. I attended medical school on a National Health Service Corp scholarship. Following medical school, I trained in internal medicine at St Mary's Hospital in San Francisco and in emergency medicine at Sparrow Hospital/Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. After several years of practicing with a private emergency medical group in Northern California, I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1990.
The reason I chose medicine as a career is the same reason why I am still thrilled to be practicing medicine today. I enjoy working with and taking care of patients as well as the challenge that medicine presents to me every day I practice. I also enjoy that medicine allows one to continue learning, constantly building your skills and testing …your knowledge.
When I am not practicing medicine, I enjoy anything that involves the beautiful outdoors. I am a vegetarian and I have a special interest in disease prevention. Kaiser Permanente's focus on disease prevention integrates well with my own philosophy that disease prevention is the key to a healthy, productive life.
