Dr. Louis Warren Weisberg, MD

(For some reason my comment above was cut off.) Anyway, needless to say my husband stayed out all night on a drug binge after seeing Dr. Weisberg, followed by locking himself in a hotel room with a gun and threatening to shoot himself. Do you wish to be treated by this so-called "expert"?

My husband went to see this doctor for the first time for addiction problems and depression. Given my husband's extreme suicidal ideation, Dr. Weisberg encouraged him to come back 2 days later, which is understandable. However, at the end of the second session, Dr. Weisberg was apparently concerned enough about my husband that he encouraged him to come to see him every day (for a steep all-cash fee), instead of arranging a short-term hospitalization to keep my husband safe (and also provide him a higher level of assessment and care), as is the standard in psychiatry. Needless to say, my husband stayed out all night on a drug binge the very day after

Wanted to like this doctor and hope that he would warm up enough to give me feedback to my problems, since he is not just a psychiatrist, but a psychologist as well. When I arrived, he would stare at me and I would say, "go ahead you start, ask a question," without any reference to what we had been discussing the week before and in past sessions. Instead, he would say, "tell me what's on your mind..." and let me just talk and talk until time was up, and never answer questions i had on topics I broached. One would hope that he had been thinking about my problems he had taken notes on over the past sessions, and give some feedback. He also had to be reminded over and over again to take care of my prescriptions. He made the work of the pharmacy doubly hard by having to chase him. I would NOT recommend seeing this comatose, cold "dr."

I have found Dr. Weisberg to be compassionate and insightful. He has helped me to find the best part of myself and interact with others in a more compassionate and caring way. By truly listening without judgement he puts you at ease to discuss the most challenging topics. His insights are remarkable. I may not want to hear what he has to say sometimes but it almost always turns out to be accurate and a breakthrough in understanding. He has helped me to become a better person. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking to truly understand themselves and to move past life traumas.

He's fallen asleep during sessions. Very money oriented.No compassion. Kept me in a mental hospital for 2 yrs. He medicated his patients heavily. He prescribed me sodium amytal for 1 yr.he freely prescribes benzodiazepines (valium family). I saw him off and on for over 30 yrs. He also gave choral hydrate freely. Until you leave the hospital. Then when you're discharged he gives you nothing. . You're expected to withdraw from your dependency.During my time seeing him he hardly said a word in session. Usually just slept.Now he doesn't practice out of a hospital and doesn't accept emergency calls. WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR IS THIS. HE SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF PRACTICE!

I have been seeing Dr. Weisberg for years and I honestly feel he understands me better than anyone I know...better than even I understand myself in some cases. I can always call him, he'll always be encouraging and never in a disingenuous way. He's not flashy or a glad-hander, but he's smart, solid and caring--which is what you want in a therapist. And he's helped me tremendously.

He will liberally write prescriptions. He fell asleep during the sessions on at least two different occasions. He refused to give me copy of my medical records which I needed to send to IRS for review and instead offered to write a letter-- for a fee.

You would expect a psychiatrist is to be patient with you and pay attention toy your problems, he seemed to have been more worried about the time and his money then the actual needs of the patient.Very timid during sessions, does not make you feel welcome. OK bed side manner but you can obviously tell he is in it for the money and not to help his patients.

Caring and kind doctor. Helps a lot. Willing to take calls after hours.
