Dr. Louisa Paul, MD

Dr. Paul has been my primary for 5 years. She is fantastic. The comment about fat-shaming gave me pause because I am obese, but she has never been anything other than kind, careful, and personable. One of the nurses told me she recommended Dr. Paul to her daughter because of how thorough Dr. Paul is. I see her primarily for an annual physical. It is hard to get in to see her when I am sick, but the MHealth Highland urgent care clinic is so good that hasn't been a problem. I recommend her highly.

Dr. Paul was fine during my first visit with her. I don't know if she was having a rough morning, but I did not have good vibes. I was in for a broken bone (I knew it was broken before my visit from experience) but somehow my weight came up. Dr. Paul is not my primary care physician and this was my first visit with her. She had assumed it was a sprain and barely wanted to prescribe an anti-inflammatory med since I cannot have ibuprofen. On my visit summary she had added "discussed morbid obesity" which has never been on my chart because I am healthy, according to my two primary doctors and the several other I've had. I felt fat shamed, even though I am fat and fit/active and I have hormone imbalance issues...and a broken bone which is unrelated to my weight.
