Dr Smith was great in the beginning and I felt like I got decent care until I left the hospital. I saw him in the office only twice in 6 weeks even though I was still in extreme pain and my incision never completely closed. He never returned any phone calls and didn’t even see me when I was finally admitted through the ER. He seems to have a good reputation but I would not recommend him.

Everything went smoothe. He has great bedside manners and the healing process was easy. Thank you for doing a great job.

I have loved being a patient of Dr. Lovell Smith for years. He is always understanding, has a GREAT bedside manner, and is very thorough with his care. I have highly recommended him to friends and co-workers- and he does not disappoint.

Never returned one phone call. Had an attitude in the hospital room when we paged him contiually Asked his staff, to leave more than 15 messages. Could never make appointments because his staff refused. under his recommendation spent 14 days on a clear liquid diet. Left out of the hospital on 14th day. Thank you Dr. Smith. I will never have you for a doctor EVER. Your staff at Baptist East is the worst, most unprofessional group I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with.

he has performed surgery on me twice and a third time may be in the very near future. i feel the same as another rater being that i will travel to him wherever he may be. i have had two other surgeries by other surgeons but they don't compare to him...none whatsoever. just walking into his office makes you feel better. he's the best!

Dr. Lovell Smith is wonderful, intelligent, and very talented surgically. I traveled from Pittsburgh (750 miles) to have him operate on me three times and I will come to him if I ever need a general surgeon again. I trust him fully and owe him my life.

DR. SMITH HAS EXCELLENT BEDSIDE MANNER AND HE WILL STOP AT NOTHING TO HELP HIS PATIENTS. HE WAS PHENOMENAL AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE NEEDING SURGERY IN HIS SPECIALTY.
