Dr. Luana Pillon, MD

I hardly ever write reviews, but Dr. Pillon absolutely deserves one. She is an exceptional nephrologist and an even more exceptional human being. From the very first visit, she made me feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. She takes the time to explain everything clearly, answers every question with patience, and never makes you feel rushed. Her bedside manner is outstanding — warm, compassionate, and reassuring. It’s clear that she truly cares about her patients, not just their diagnoses. She combines deep medical knowledge with heartfelt empathy, which is such a rare and special combination. I feel incredibly fortunate to be under her care and would recommend Dr. Pillon without hesitation to anyone needing a kidney specialist.

WE CANT SAY ENOUGH HOW MUCH WE APPRECIATE ALL THE TIME AND CALLS AND RESEARCH FOR THE BEST POSSIBLE CARE AND HAVING GOOD QUALITY OF LIFE BY CREATING A PLAN THAT WORKED FOR US BEFORE STARTING DIALISYS. Dr Pillon has been rude and insulting to us from the first office visit. Second visit was even more rude and insulting to both my wife and myself. She’s apparently wonderful to everyone else?!? I guess it’s just us!! Why is, Dr Pillon?

Dr. Pillon is very knowlegeable and compassionate which is a good recipe for an excellent patient care. Her staff is courteous and professional. I highly recommend Dr. Pillon to patients seeking exceptional care to address their kidney conditions.

Dr. Pillon is extremely professional. She takes time to listen and time to explain. A first rate professional experience. Very attentive to patients health issues. She is also kind and friendly. It is rare to find a doctor that combines such professional touches and care for a patient as a person with outstanding quality of medical care. I highly recommend becoming her patient.

Compassionate and thoughtful, the best way to describe Dr Pillon. She spends quality time listening and answering questions. She has helped so many members of my family and I absolutely would only recommend seeing her for nephrology. She is #1!

Old school medicine with modern knowledge!!! This report may be long but it is thorough. If you are seeking an excellent Nephrologist, you may want to read this review to completion. Honestly, my greatest concern is that if too many patients go to her that I may have trouble in the future getting timely appointments Right now making appointments is easy. But I may have to accept that, knowing that she would be able help many more people... I am grateful that my Rheumatologist sent me to Dr. Pillon AND that I am a current patient of LUANA PILLON, MD. All I can say is that she is the kind of physician who no longer graduates from medical schools. Which is sad because too many of those recently graduating (even going back 25 years) are looking for dollars, rarely review pertinent data, and don't really LISTEN when patients talk. Dr. Pillon is NOTHING LIKE THAT. She is truly caring, a superb listener and makes sure that I understand what she is telling me. She will spend,… realistically, as much time as it takes to help me become healthier, or in the least, to prevent me from getting worse. Further, she is extremely kind, empathetic, patient, very knowledgeable and so thoughtful about my overall health that she will sometimes recommend different physicians as compared with of some of the heartless fools I was seeing; fortunately I did make some changes and the doctors she referred are more like her as they are detailed and want to help me be better; not just collect a payment and move on to the "next patient" (or is that an addition to the house/summer cottage/plush winter vacation). She reviews other tests and labwork performed by other physicians I see. Then she reviews my medications as recorded by her assistant. She asks me how "I" feel and does not judge my feelings based solely on results from a test but includes what I truly tell her -- because she was listening to me fully. It is best to give her clear replies so that she may look within the tests and other reports to see if what I tell her can be confirmed based on the tests and other physician's reports. This helps her identify a cause or reason for my problem. She asked me to keep a daily record of my blood pressure and to bring it with me so that she can review it. To me it seems that there is nothing that is too insignificant. Some of the details that I thought were irrelevant she actually found revealing. Again, I try to be precise as I do not want to waste her time either so that she may also help other patients too. I was surprised when she found a discrepancy in a report from another doctor, recommended a second opinion by a different doctor as an option. I was shocked and even amazed when the recommended physician agreed that the report from my (now former) doctor was significantly wrong. In that area of my health, I now feel much better and am finally receiving the proper care that I should have been receiving. Words I can use to describe her are thorough, truly caring, VERY knowledgeable, curious to learn more, empathetic, willing and genuine. Her competitors are few and far between. Yes, many who have graduated med school more recently are also knowledgeable, but they lack so many other severely critical qualities which comprise a great physician. She and a very select few other physicians are in a small group of superb physicians, perhaps 1 in 500 (or possibly 1000). I do know a few thousand doctors as I have had significant illnesses from the time I was born. Dr. Pillon was even able to better understand some aspects of my current health based on diagnoses from when I was a child. In Las Vegas, I have found only a partial handful of truly great doctors; many are good but most should not be in the field of medicine. It is true that doctors who are currently working in the field are "in practice". Unfortunately, too many are still practicing medicine like amateurs. Dr. Pillon does NOT "practice". She is the real thing and KNOWS, DOES and IS truly so much more than most of the doctors who foolishly believe that they are physicians.
