Dr. Lubna Akter Shabnam, MD

I’ve never written a review before, but I feel I must. Dr. Shabnam was, by far, the worst doctor I’ve ever had the misfortune of meeting. Long story short, she failed to follow up (I called over and over but would have to wait days or weeks for a response), misdiagnosed me (with cancer...which I didn’t have), gave me horribly wrong medical advice (told me to stop taking a medication that I most certainly should not stop), and was just generally incompetent. I ended up paying out of pocket to see a doctor out of my network simply because I did not feel safe in her care and my insurance plan left me with no other options. I should have reported her to the Board for malpractice, but I didn’t because I learned she had moved out of state.

One of the worst providers I've ever seen. Was very ill and she would ask: "Why do you have nausea? Why do you have fever?" Then she incorrectly diagnosed me and prescribed a medication that has serious interactions with three other meds I'm taking. You definitely do not want to see this provider. I wouldn't bring a stray hamster to her for euthanasia. A horrid experience overall and the mystery of why the downtown Allina clinic is so empty has been solved. Sad that there are too many 'doctors' like this who obviously hate the career paths they chose.
