Dr. Lucia Daiana Voiculescu, MD

I've been seeing Dr. Voiculescu for a number of years. Dr. Voiculescu is what I expect from doctors - she is a truly professional in her field. When we are sick, we have a problem to express our symptoms specifically to help doctor to come up with a correct diagnose. Dr. Voiculescu is always asking me correct questions, she talks to me and I feel good, comfortable with her. I've been suffering with my pain for years but, thanks to her treatment, I feel good my pain is almost gone. And another thing which is extremely important - to know that you have your doctor who can always help you - it makes me feel good. And for me this is doctor Voiculescu.

Can't speak to this doctor's confidence. However, I will tell you that she flat-out refuses to fill out any forms whatsoever regarding disability or any documentation whatsoever. Seriously considering filing a lawsuit against her.

I’m horrified that this person is allowed to practice pain management most especially in an institution such as NYU Langone!! I am in excruciating pain with an upcoming surgical procedure in my lower spine. I can barely walk 10 steps. I am rather thin and relatively attractive which I believe put her off to begin with! As a result of her treatment, I am awaiting a professional assessment of further possible permanent damage to my nerve endings directly due to her procedure and complete disregard for the extreme intensity of my pain level. BUYER BEWARE!!!!.

How are downright rude doctors allowed to be doctors dealing with human beings having questions and pain issues. She is not a doctor you should ever visit unless you want to see her roll her eyes as you try to explain the issues. She didn't even want to look at my MRI or injection reports I had printed out. Pathetic!!!!

My initial visit with Dr. Voiculescu was a huge stressor beginning with her abrupt and rude manners. She got frustrated when I tried to explain what was my medical issue was. She also told me to get rid of my big belly and overweight. I am 10 lbs over my regular weight which is not the source of my back pains. What a lack of empathy! I did not return to continue my injections, because I felt disrespected and disregarded.

I was referred to Dr. Voiculescu by my rheumatologist. My appointment with her began with her telling me that his diagnosis of my rheumatic disease was incorrect, as only men get this disease (this is not true). She then told me that I needed to have a gene for the disease (I do, it's in my chart). She neither touched me nor examined me, and asked only a few very brief questions. She ended by telling me that I had no pathology indicating the cause of my pain (because she chose to ignore my rheumatologist's diagnosis) and therefore I was probably depressed and should seek a psychologist. She then told me that my pain would likely disappear if I lost weight. She suggested 50 pounds. While I am not thin, I am within the healthy weight range for my height, and losing the suggested 50 pounds would put me 20 pounds below the lowest weight in the healthy range.

I'm surprised by the other comments here, as my experience was quite different. I think being a pain management doctor is difficult, but Dr. V is a frustrating doctor. I found her to be a poor listener, one of those doctors that just gets up and walks out when she's decided the visit is over, even if it's only been three minutes. She did not answer my questions. I found her to be angry and arrogant and very unprofessional. Does not return phone calls. There is no way to contact her in an emergency. I am not a difficult patient, and I am very polite. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.

Prof.voiculescu of langone medical center was awarded a special honor in New York on Nov 8, 201 for her work and for saving human lives in Haiti, where she went immediately after the recent earthquake as a volunteer with the HEART rapid response team of Langone Medical Center, New York University School of Medicine

A true professional, with excellent qualifications at Bucharest Medical School, Romania, Vanderbilt, Mount Sinai and NYU. Professor V. speaks fluently 5 languages, is hard-working and keeps up-to-date with the latest techniques and procedures in both Europe and the US.Apart from her current specialization in Pain Management and Anesthesiology, she impressed me with her holistic approach to other areas of Medicine where Dr V. specialized before moving to the United States.

I stumbled upon Dr. Voiculescu and couldn't be happier with her. She is extremely kind, patient, caring and knowledgeable. Dr. Voiculescu is a truly great doctor.
