is the founder of Central Jersey Periodontics & Implants. He earned his DDS degree from Columbia University School of Dental & Oral Surgery in 1974 and completed the advanced post graduate training program in Periodontics at Columbia University in 1977.
He practiced general and restorative dentistry in New York City and in Forest Hills, NY and then opened a practice limited to periodontics in East Brunswick, NJ in 1980. In the same year, he founded the highly successful Garden State Periodontal and Implant Study Group and the Barry Kelner Study Club. Dr Kahan became interested in dental implants after completing the original Branemark Training program in 1983.
In 1993 – 1994 Dr Kahan completed a one year Mini Residency program in Dental Implants at Brookdale Medical Center in NY. In his spare time, Dr Kahan enjoys ballroom dancing and playing tennis. He performs ballroom dance routines throughout New Jersey. He served as secretary, vice-president and president of the United States Dental Tennis Association.
