Dr. Luciana Danielle Bester, MD

I saw this dr for basic primary care for about two years. She was initially very nice, but didn’t do much other than order labs. Never saw her for problem visits. Then, this year’s check up, after have the best labs in over two years, she got super paternalistic and demanding about seeing a specialist. I wasn’t opposed to seeing a specialist, but when I asked questions regarding the need to see a specialist and about a diagnostic test she had ordered, she became highly defensive, aggressive, and plain rude. Then after a follow-up appointment, she retroactively put in several punitive style diagnosis in my chart for the previous appointment. The whole thing was super bizarre. She also has a habit of double billing for wellness visits (wellness visits being free and an office visit, which has cost share and patient responsibility) even after asking what would constitute the need for an additional charge on a wellness visit and being reassured that it wouldn’t happen, it still happened-… 2nd time this had happened at this practice. I have never seen this done in ANY other practice. Then, after calling the office to ask about the bill that I received from my wellness exam (which should have all been covered), they just sent be a letter saying they dropped me as a patient. I still don’t know if owe the money that was billed...that wasn’t even addressed in the letter!!?! Clearly, given the treatment I had received, I had already moved on and was established with another practice, but SAVE yourself the headache of this dr and practice. Unless you want a dr to tell you everything you need to know about your own health, avoid this dr. She has no room for patient dialogue that is outside the standard biomedical approach to health, does not practice a patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery, and has a highly antiquated belief structure on health behavior. I never write reviews and realize other people might have an entirely different experience with her, but my treatment by her was so unnecessary and unprofessional, I really feel the need to warn other people.

Have seen her maybe 3x....Not sure why, I just cannot connect with her. She's always typing on her laptop, and I feel like she's not really listening to me.
