Family Medical Associate in Lafayette is the worst medical practice I've ever witnessed, and Dr. Kidd is the epitome of that. Starting with FMA, you need to twist their arm to get them to do anything. I was leaving for a 3 month trip and needed my prescriptions for that trip. After 6 calls from both me and my pharmacy asking to fill these prescriptions, still nothing had happened. After three days, I called a fourth time and demanded to speak with Dr. Kidd, only to find she had left for the weekend. Let's face it, calling in a prescription takes less than a minute, and given the urgency of our trip, I can't believe she (and FMA) would leave that on the back burner. They acted like it wasn't a situation that needed immediate attention, and kept telling me to call tomorrow (despite the fact that they knew I was leaving the next day). Furthermore, in personal appointments with Dr. Kidd, she has the worst bedside manner I've ever witnessed. She is condescending and refuses to… listen to any input. I'm not a doctor, but I do know what my body is doing and that certain symptoms are worth listening to. She doesn't care for any of this, and claims her prowess as a doctor is enough to diagnose you without listening to significant symptoms. In my own experience, this has led twice to misdiagnoses that were not even close to what my actual illness was (actually one of them was an ear issue that was the exact opposite of what she concluded). After seeing specialists for both problems, they questioned how Dr. Kidd came to her conclusions because she wasn't even close. It's a complete waste of money and time to see her for an actual medical opinion, which leads me to my final point. Understanding how ineffective she is, I went in to get a referral to a pulmonologist for a lung issue I had been going through for over a month. Once again, I'm not a doctor but I do have the common sense to know that if I'm on allergy medicine, and my symptoms came on acutely and were completely different than my usual allergies, then it's probably not allergies. Of course she didn't even listen to my lungs, and diagnosed allergies. I then asked for the pulmonology referral, AND SHE REFUSED to give me one. I've never had a doctor be so prideful that they refused to give a referral. I ended up going to a pulmonologist on my own dime, and they diagnosed me with textbook pneumonia...something any competent doctor would've caught. All of this taken into account, Dr. Kidd is the worst doctor I've ever witnessed and, in my opinion, shouldn't have her license. The way she handles her practice is negligent (I am actually going to file a complaint with the medical board), and I wouldn't trust her to diagnose my son with a cold. Save yourself the time, money, and headache, and go to one of the many other quality professionals in the area.
