Dr. Luis Ernesto Augsten, MD

I recently saw Dr. Augsten in the Marathon office and I have to say I was totally impressed with him and his staff. Dr. Augsten took the time to explain to me my echo results and drew a picture so that I could understand my heart condition. HIs secretary was very nice and attentive also. I highly recommend this doctor!!

I have worked for several specialties and multiple clinics/hospitals, both clinical and clerical positions, this in mind, I assure you I did not have unreasonable expectations and I was not rude or demanding towards the staff in any way. This was a Horrible experience. They failed to send any documents to my insurance for a very important test, which caused my testing to be denied coverage. When I called Dr. Augsten's office to let them know what the insurance said, they snapped at me and said I was accusing them of not sending records that they know they sent. I VERY NICELY & repetitively said, I am not blaming you for anything, this stuff happens all the time. I just need someone to contact the insurance. She was still rude and told me she would call me the next day to let me know how it goes with the insurance co. (mind you, I have already waited two weeks for this to be cleared up). I received no call the next day, I called and left a message to please update me on the status of… the authorization for this test. I left a message everyday for THREE WEEKS. The last call I made to Dr. Augsten's, the receptionist FINALLY picked-up. Did she use a formal greeting? No She answered it by saying, "Hello Ms. anonymous, we haven't had time to get in touch with your insurance." So, they obviously have caller ID & chose to ignore every phone call I had made the past three weeks. Still they were rude and dismissive. When I tried to tell the Doctor what was going on (I was crying because I was scared to have another episode), he hung up on me! DO NOT GO HERE this is your heart! They care more about their pride & egos than they do their patients. SCARY! *No wonder why they're not accredited w/the Better Business Bureau*

I recently visited the office in Marathon and was very impressed at the high quality of service I received. Dr. Augsten was very attentive and explained everything to me. His office personnel are outstanding and caring as well. I am very satisfied with my new cardiologist and highly recommend him.
