Dr. Luis T Mauleon

Had to have a root canal when the other dentist in the office screwed up my teeth. He did NOT use enough numbing medicine and was told so. He then started drilling anyway. When I tried to stop him, I was told "it won't help to give more. Just breath through the pain." I had tears STREAMING down my face as I tried to get him to stop. Drilling a ROOT CANAL and this fool wouldn't stop to numb me more. Finally he stopped half way through saying "we'll stop for today and come back in a few days to finish." I'm sorry what?? His assistant walked me out and kept apologizing to me. Tears were still streaming down my face it hurt so bad. Went back and told him if he didn't numb my mouth enough while drilling, I would bite his hand and hit him. This FOOL made my ENTIRE FACE numb to be a jerk..and it was numb for 12 hours. And to make matters worse, the tooth ended up needing to be pulled by an oral surgeon because of shotty work by him and other dentist in the office. Save your money AND… yourself from pain. NOT WORTH IT

Dr. Luis Mauleon was my dentist here growing up until I was 18. Over the years he gave me 4 metal fillings in my molars. When I was 21 one of the fillings he put in became infected and needed a root canal. I was able to get the root canal but couldn't afford the cap from a different dentist. Recently I went to another dentist to get a cap put on. After x-rays the new dentist said that all the fillings had infections because they were done with metal, which wasn't a common filling material even when I was a kid. Dentist's are supposed to use the white filling material because it doesn't expand and contract, causing leakage and fractures in the tooth. The new Dentist ended up capping a different filling because the tooth was fractured. He said the original filling Dr. Mauleon put in went way too deep, all the way to the root, which was bad. He put the cap on but warned that it might need a root canal because it was drilled so deep originally. Because I got that cap I couldn't afford the… crown on the tooth that had the root canal that I went in for. That tooth split in two last night because the original filling was too big and weakened the walls of the tooth, which combined with the brittleness caused by root canals meant it was going to fracture eventually. My sister had the same dentist, Dr. Luis Mauleon, growing up. Because of the way he did her fillings she had to have a root canal recently as well. My mom hasn't needed a root canal for 52 years, but recently she saw a new dentist who told her that because of the way a filling Dr. Luis Mauleon did was put in, and because of the metal material used, her tooth was fracturing and needed a root canal and a cap. She wouldn't have needed that is Dr. Luis Mauleon hadn't filled her tooth improperly. I've heard a story of someone who Dr. Luis Mauleon was operating on. He was drilling out a tooth for a filling and drilled so deep he punctured the sinus cavity above the tooth. Our family has deep pockets in our teeth, meaning that the tops of the molars recede deeply into the teeth, this causes a little browning very deep in the pocket that can appear to be a cavity, but based on all my dentist visits after leaving Dr. Luis Mauleon these pockets have been confirmed to be fine. Not cavities. I've asked other dentists about it and they said that it was possible the original fillings were never needed, because my whole family got the fillings at the same time. We've never had cavities since then, though we don't take as good care of our teeth as we should. We haven't changed our brushing habits since we had the cavities, yet no more have grown. So I have to conclude that we most likely didn't need the fillings in the first place. It's unlikely my whole family, ranging from 5 to 35 at the time, developed cavities at the same time. I'm surprised there isn't a class action lawsuit against this practice. The damage Dr. Luis Mauleon has done has cost me thousands of dollars, and will cost me thousands more for the bridge or implant I'll need to get for my newly broken tooth, and for the tooth that may need a root canal. I believe he's responsible for these costs. His damage caused these problems and cost me more money than I can afford. All the teeth he never touched are fine.
