Dr. Luis Melgar, MD

Dr melgar and the nurses have been wonderful. I've been receiving allergy shots once a month or two years now. The day of my recent appointment I accidentally spilled coffee on my pants on my way out the door on my home.. I immediately changed my pants so I can get to the appointment on time.. As I approach the window the receptionist (Michelle) stated I have a $7.82 copay. As I reach for my wallet I forgot to grab it when I change my pants.. I stated to Michelle I'm so sorry I forgot my wallet and asked if I can call in the copay as soon as I get home.(I've only done this once in the past 2 years) Michelle looked at me and said.. no payment no more service, then proceeded to close the window without any reschedule. I just don't understand why the rudeness and completely shut me off right away!! I've been nothing but respectful to that place for their service.. Michelle should not be working customer service at all!!!

Absolutely terrible office staff. Was given the wrong appt date agreed upon with receptionist. When I showed up for appt. They said that I was a no show. I wasn't even aware they scheduled the wrong date. I then rescheduled the " missed" appt. Upon arrival to this new appt. they would not let me see dr. or get my lab results without paying a 76.00 no show fee. I left numerous messages with their billing dept who works pt. time from home who failed to return my calls. Terrible receptionist, Terrible office manager, Terrible billing. I will not see this Dr. again nor will I ever recommend them.

Found out I had a health issue from pharmacy 1st and I was upset. Called and front staff was rude then Dr..Melgar got on the phone and was cursing at me. F Bombs. Not even kidding. Then he told me he was dropping me as a patient. Steer clear of this place.

I went to have a skin test for my allergies in 2006. I was diagnosed with the wrong allergies. I was only allergic to pollen. when the skin test said i was allergic to cats, eggs, peanut butter, grass.

Dr. Melgar is one of the smartest doctors in the Buffalo area.

He is a quack mis diagnosed my afib causing a devastating stroke should be hung by his thumbs NOT worthy to be called a doctor

My 1 star review is for Dr. Melgar's staff. I've never experienced such ignorance, sloth, belligerence, incompetence, and bigotry in all my years combined. I am looking into legal action action against them. Why? 2 weeks ago, my mother-in-law went to see Dr. Melgar. He ordered blood work for her. We paid for this visit ourselves, no insurance. 1 week ago, my mother-in-law was approved for medicaid and received her card. Today, she went for blood work ordered by Dr. Melgar. For one of the orders, the facility required something extra, a code of some kind. Dr. Melgar's staff member refused to do this, calling my wife a liar, that her mother had medicaid all along and they don't accept Medicaid. (Completely ignoring the fact we paid for the visit without Medicaid) She was so rude & hostile that my wife called me in angry tears. Complete refusal to fulfill their duties, simply because they are too lazy. We paid for the service. All they have to do is fulfill… their obligation started by Dr. Melgar's orders. We can take the results to another doctor. No problem. But we can't take the results if the morons won't give the OK for the doctor's orders.

I brought my young daughter. We spent a grand total of 8 minutes being seen by a NP. We spent close to two hours waiting. We never even met the Dr. he canceled after 45 minutes of waiting in the waiting room. I was still given a very high bill, and treated rudely when I didn't understand why I was being charged so much for such little time with a NP. I didn't get any answers. Waste of time and money.

I have been seeing Dr. Melgar for about 15 years now and I can honestly say he has never let me down. No matter how sick I am or if I'm in for something minor, he always makes me laugh. He is always very concerned about my health. I really don't know what I would have done without him all these years. Thank you Dr. Melgar for all you have done for me and my family. You ROCK!!

I began seeing Dr. Melgar to treat my severe allergies. After a few months, I loved the staff so much, I decided to make him my primary care physician. Everyone is so kind and caring. You'll never wait more than 15 minutes for your appointment, and they will always make time for you.
