Dr. Luis Felipe Soto, MD

He was my doctor for the last 9 years since Hurricane Katrina. In the past year or two he has completely failed at remembering major issues when I go for checkups. I actually was admitted thru the ER over a year ago and he was the doctor on call. Of course his name was listed as my primary doctor. He did not know me. He didn't know I was his patient and he was questioning me like I was a complete stranger. He even asked me who prescribed all the drugs I was taking and I told him "you". He laughed and asked again. I replied "you, you ARE my doctor". He left the room. Later I told the hospital nurse that he didn't know me and by the next day he came in all smiles like everything was now in place and that he knew me and my condition. I wanted to be released and he complied with the discharge. He ran tests for blockage in my legs. He said I had blockage. He scheduled an angiogram and said I had no blockage but I did have a "bump" in the area leading to my heart. I also have… atrial fibrillation which I was in at the time of the angiogram. 3 days later I went for checkup since the angiogram. He again said no blockage. He also had absolutely no knowledge of saying I had a "bump". Nothing in his transcripts either. He then contemplated taking me off blood thinners. This is just 3 days after I was still in AF during the test! He made no mention of this fact (3 days earlier) geez. I have other medical problems and he continues to ask me the same questions and is always surprised when I give him the same answers. I can no longer trust him and his opinions so I am moving on in looking for another cardiologist and internist.

He is an internist. See patients for heart problems but he is not a cardiologist.
