Dr. Luis Manuel Tumialan, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Tumialan for ten years now for spinal stenosis. He is not only a highly skilled surgeon, but is also a kind, compassionate and empathetic human being. He is easily accessible, prompt in returning phone calls and very helpful. His staff also, is very warm, friendly and most importantly professional, efficient and accommadating. I can not say enough good things about them and can not imagine going to another doctor. This community is so blessed to have him.

Initial visit for my husband. Dr. Tumialán seemed highly intelligent, thorough in his questioning and careful in his approach to pinning down the cause of my husband’s medical issues.

A complete failed surgery which left me with permanent nerve damage in my feet. I am in pain all day and can’t be on my feet more than 1 hour a day. My life is ruined and everything I worked so hard for is gone.

In May 2021, Dr. Tumialan said “I’m going to fix you.” Instead, my life was ruined by a spinal fusion revision. During surgery he encountered something unexpected (he later told me). Maybe it was the engorged epidural veins or the laminectomy. I’ll never know. Post surgery, I had severe nerve pain in my legs that eventually came to reside in my feet. Unable to walk without excruciating pain, my career, exercising, relationships, travel, joy, laughter, and a pain free existence were all extinguished. In addition, Dr. Tumialan told me several times that my spine was fused despite my back pain. It must have been a lie because how could a seasoned surgeon be unable to read imaging? In 2022 I was flown across the country to fix my incomplete laminectomy, lack of fusion and loose hardware. Thankfully, that surgeon was able to “fix me”. To this day, my spine has full function and I am pain free. Sadly, after many procedures, my feet remain a very painful reminder of May 2021. My… future is incredibly bleak and everything I worked so hard for, extinguished. With excellent medical insurance, my out of pocket aftercare expenses were $46,000 dollars last year (2024) all thanks to Dr. Tumialan’s failed procedure.

I am 3 years post op after having my L5 S1 fused by doctor he saved my life, when we first met he said I needed to lose weight, I lost 100 lb he fused my spine, my back is 100% at the same time my wife also followed our diet she lost 100 lbs that's when we found my wife had a tumor it was removed, non-cancerous but weighed 40 lb, her life was saved because it was dying inside of her if we had not met this doctor during our lives both of us would probably be dead right now this man is a wonderful doctor we put our lives in his hands and he respected us, he listened to us, he's a wonderful wonderful doctor

Dr.Tumialan worked wonders on my lumbar fusion, 2 years of severe pain,4 denials and he pushed it through, I finally have my life back,if you need the best neurosurgeon he is the one!!!!
