Dr. Luke Michael Joseph Dwyer, MD

I was in the office with my husband and was dumbfounded at how this doctor treated him. We had to call a UNI crisis line and get my husband real help after he ushered us out of his office after only spending a little time with him (the appointment went for maybe 15 minutes) and refusing to give my husband the medicine he suggested trying, even though my husband was willing to try anything. I almost lost my husband after the appointment with Dr. Dwyer, and it was because he didn't handle the situation in a calm and professional manner and held hope and help over my husband's head in the form of medicine and then withheld it at the end of the appointment after their disagreement.

This guy thinks he's reinventing the wheel. That he's unique. I've seen my fair share of Psychiatrists and I've never met a doctor so unprofessional and full of himself. This doctor maintains archaic medical opinions regarding cannabis use, comparing it to alcoholism, stating that it's physically addictive in the same manner. He will not prescribe any helpful medications for anxiety, even for suicidal patients with daily panic attacks, and stated that he is strongly opposed to benzos and that they are marketed for long term use to get people addicted to them. He suggested trying Lamictal, and then wouldn't prescribe it because he got upset about our disagreements. Had to go back to the same office a few hours later to get the Rx I needed.
