Dr. Luke Roy Stephenson, MD

I peacefully resting in bed when he abruptly walked in my room reached over me in bed and told me “I’m discharging you today and I hope you have 4people at home to take care of you in a very angry tone and walked out as I was saying to him what happened and he did not respond. That was my first time seeing this guy and I didn’t get his name till I called my daughter and we got the name from the acting nurse for me at that time. This man needs to be trained on bedside manner PERIOD!!

He saved me! The sooner Adult on-set Stills disease is diagnosed the better the outcome. The day I was being discharged from Morton Plant Hospital Dr. Stephenson came to see me. After reviewing my chart and a long conversation he ordered a serum Ferritin and diagnosed my illness. Thank You, Doctor. I can't begin to tell you how comforted I felt by the expertise of all the physicians at Morton Plant Hospital, especially Dr. Stephenson. I had been to numerous ER's without any help. The other facilities did not offer the level of expertise that the Morton Plant Hospitalist offered. I did not have a primary care physician because we just moved to the area and I became acutely ill, so an ER was my logical option. I went to Morton Plant, because I continued to feel like I could not go on another day, and the physicians in the ER listened to me for the first time. From my perspective, the communication between all of the Hospitalist was excellent. Plus, all of the physicians I had the… opportunity to have care from had a great bedside manner. I will always remember Dr. Luke Stephenson because he was the physician who diagnosed my illness.
