Dr. Luther Valentine Rhodes, MD

Saw him 15 years ago for what I believed was chronic Lyme. I even tested positive on a QUEST test AFTER treatment (by another doctor), not just positive on the IGeneX test. Here it is 15 years later, and because we locked horns back then, I am now being denied the right to see ANY infectious disease doctor at that practice, even with a referral from my PCP. This man thinks he's a bigshot and can't handle any patient who challenges him on any grounds. He even looks like a walking spirochete.

Dr Rhodes has been an icon and highly respected luminary in infectious disease and internal medicine for more than forty years in the Lehigh Valley. He has always practiced with encyclopedic knowledge, empathy, and common sense. It has been a privilege to be his colleague and friend.

He is a excellent infectious doctor in general but when it comes to diagnosing lyme disease he 100% on the political side..He has deliberately misdiagnosed many patients. Horrible hospital bedside manner.

Dr. Rhodes is outstanding. He has tremendous knowledge and truly cares about the patient. He always seems to give the patient as much time as the patient needs. He answers any questions you have. We have been seeing him for several months because of complications of a wound that developed an infection. He prescribed the necessary antibiotics during the hospital stay and afterwards. Follow up appointments included him checking to make sure there were no adverse effects happening from the medication. I personally find him a very interesting person that is very easy to talk to. His staff is also very caring and helpful.

Dr spent most of the visit talking about things that had nothing to do with me. Never examined areas I expressed concerns with. Just dismissed the symptons i relayed to him. Left the room and did not return because he took a phone call. Nurse did not even know if I needed another appointment. Promissed to call me at home, never happened. Been running a fever for six months and he just dismissed my concerns with alot of talk about nothing.

My spouse contracted a surgical infection and it was a very stressful time for us. Dr. Rhodes was the one bright spot in the whole ordeal. We felt his compassion and he was so helpful in curing the infection. I would highly recommend him.
