Dr Hernandez is the best! She is a true professional, tops in her field and a Christian. She cares about her patients and was very patient and reassuring with me and my family. She stays in contact with you during treatment to be sure that you are clear about the process and works to resolve issues and concerns. She and her team ( office staff and recommended oncologists) were fabulous! They communicated with each other on my condition throughout my course of treatment. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs a breast surgeon.

Dr. Hernandez is a compassionate human being. She believes in God and is not afraid to include that in her greeting. I love her so much and know I can always trust her.

Diagnosed in 2004, October, at a large teaching hospital. Female doctor, I liked her but just after doing my surgery she was going to be leaving for another state to practice. I did not want to have a doctor perform surgery on me and then not be reachable. I was panicked and then several days later I ran into a client I knew from a veterinary hospital where I was employed. I remembered she had had the same diagnosis about 6 months earlier. I asked who did her surgery, she said Dr. Hernandez and "she is wonderful". I made an appt. with her the next day. She walked into the room and hugged me! I knew providence had been looking out for me, this was the doctor for me. Compassionate, kind, gentle in speech but knowledgeable and she made me knowledgeable also. She explained everything to me in detail. The previous doctor had wanted to do a lumpectomy, but I wanted a mastectomy, Dr. Hernandez felt for my staging that was the way to go. The day of my surgery we were struck with a massive snow… storm. My best friend was taking me and to pick me up was a 40 mile drive from her home and the route to the hospital was stop and start all the way there, another 20 miles. My friend kept in touch with Dr. Hernandez by cell phone all the way and she waited for me. She was so sorry we had that kind of weather on that day. She spoke with me for about 10 minutes while I was being prepped and I knew I was in the most capable hands I could be in. Finances were a struggle then and while I was in recovery she took my friend to her office and picked out a mastectomy bra for me and gave it to me, knowing I had nothing for when I got home. In 2010 my primary care physician found a lump in my mastectomy scar, she thought it felt like scar tissue so she removed it in her office. It turned out to be a recurrence. When I got the news I immediately called Dr. Hernandez by the time my pre-surgery appt. came she had contacted an oncologist and a radiologist for me. All I had to do when I got home was call each of them and get things ready for post-surgery treatment. She is absolutely the best doctor, bar none in any field I have ever known. God bless Dr. Hernandez, long may she practice. She is an absolute blessing to the women she has treated.

I first spoke with Dr. Hernandez on the phone, minutes after receiving confirmation that I had breast cancer. I have never spoken with a Dr. on the phone, and was suprised to hear from her directly. She is kind, caring, efficient and genuine. The staff with whom she works is caring and concerned and helpful. Scheduling appointments was easy and I had no trouble seeing her as needed. I waited 5 minutes or less to see her, too. Her bedside manner is calm and sincere. It's been over a year since my journey through chemotherapy, a double mastectomy with reconstruction and finally port removal. I hope to never repeat, however, she made everything just a little easier.
