Dr. Lydia Elspeth Lormand, MD

This was one of the most disappointing healthcare experiences I’ve ever had. I came to the practice as a new patient for a routine wellness exam. I was understandably nervous and had a few questions about perimenopause. I was told that I could not ask questions during this visit and would need to schedule a separate appointment for that because my questions were considered “robust.” When I asked whether my concerns could be addressed, I was told they could not. The provider then asked if I felt uncomfortable. I answered honestly and said yes. At that point, she requested that another staff member come into the room. I later discovered in the office note that the provider herself felt uncomfortable, which was surprising given that I remained calm and respectful throughout the appointment. I ultimately spoke with the office manager, who was kind and helpful. I had initially considered scheduling a follow-up appointment, but after reading the documentation from the visit—which made it… seem as though I was the aggressor—I chose not to return. Additionally, no STD screening or urine testing was offered during the visit. I have worked in healthcare for over 25 years and have never felt so dismissed or mischaracterized as a patient. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this provider.
