Dr. Lyla Cachola Prather, MD

Dr Prather is no longer in the Waipio Clinic. But now in a King Street Clinic. This clinic is terrible! I have called several times over the past 5 days. I only get a message saying high volume of calls please leave a message. I leave a message each time asking for Dr Prather's Physician Assistant to please call me. I never get a return call. VERY POOR response care. I will be finding a new primary care physician. I am now getting calls from Costco Pharmacy to pick up medications that I do not get from Costco. I try calling Dr Prather's office to tell them that I do not get these medications from Costco to stop the orders, no one returns my calls.I had been going to see Dr Prather at the Waipio Clinic for over 10 years with excellent care and excellent response. The change in clinics is TERRIBLE. DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC!

After getting to know Dr Prather it is certain that she knows what she is doing and really cares for patients. She listened to me and set up an easy to follow plan for me. After looking for some time I have found my permanent doctor. If you are looking for a doctor who is competent and cares then you should see Dr Prather.

Saw this doctor today. I normally see Dr. E Cachola but she is out on vacation this week so I was stuck with this doctor instead. I waited for over 2 hours before I saw her and when I did see her, she was very abrasive and rude, no bedside manner at all. She told me that my problems where "all in my head" and that I could not possibly be in as much pain as I said was and she was not giving me pain medicine. She said this without even so much as an evaluation. She refused to listen to my concerns and cut me off whenever I tried to explain things to her about what has been going on. I've NEVER met a more rude doctor than her. She lacks compassion and empathy for patients and has the "I'm better than you" attitude about her. As a nurse, I can safely say that I would not recommend this doctor if she was the last one on the island. I like Dr. E Cachola but would not take my worst enemy to Dr. Prather. She needs to learn that sometimes there is no medical explanation for pain conditions.… When I asked for a lab workup to rule out arthritis, she told me that there was no medical reason to "waste the insurance company's money". When Dr. E Cachola gets back from vacation, this will be brought to her attention. It is border lining on patient neglect for how she was today with me and I did not appreciate it.

Dr. Prather was cold and brusque, almost to the point of rudeness. She didn't seem to listen to what I was saying. Perhaps she was rushed since I had to wait so long for my appointment, she didn't see me until the office lunch period. She was not helpful and I would definitely never recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Prather is a very approchable and friendly doctor. I really feel like she listens to my concerns. I would recommend her to my friends and family without hesitation

Dr. Prather is a compassionate doctor, who made me feel at ease immediately. She is warm and caring, and very thorough.
