Dr. Lyn Alice Sedwick, MD

The Dr. Arrived 5 minutes late. She was very rude and aggressive with my hurt eye. She didnt listen to anything I had to say. It was more of a rush job to get me in and out. She didnt have all the records she was supposed to review and also never even seen my MRI/C.T. scan. The whole time I was there she was complaining about a young lady that didnt have insurance and didn't have a referral to their office and that she wasnt going to help her figure it out. I honestly thought that I was going to see a great doctor but it only turned out to be a nightmare.

I ended up not seeing Dr. Sedwick as her assistant Karen demanded copies of both my HSA Debit Card along with my personal credit card prior to seeing the doctor. I have Medicare with a Plan F High Deductible Medigap Plan and have never been requested to do this previously and definitely have a problem, as everyone should, giving anyone Carte Blanche access to my financial accounts. The standard procedure is a doctor's office bills Medicare and then one's Medigap insurance. Then finally the patient for any balance owed. I've read on previous reviews that if there is a delay or a claim has to be submitted to Medicare for review, Karen wants the client to pay then and there... and then client has to deal with getting money from Medicare and/or their insurer. So, I am left to assume that if there is a delay of any sort, Karen would be automatically putting the charges on my financial cards. I've also read that some of the doctor's charges have been denied by Medicare. I don't know if they… were perhaps unapproved services or maybe bad coding. In any case, the whole billing operation is not the standard norm and is questionable in my opinion. Such a shame as I understand Dr. Sedwick is a good doctor.

This is a highly trained and experienced doctor who provides a thorough exam and clear explanations. You could not be in better hands.

I was very pleased with Dr. Sedgwick she was extremely knowledgeable, competent, communicates very clearly, I made sure I knew exactly what my issues were or could be and that I understood everything including my choices and treatment. Karen, her office manager, was very thorough and informative and eager to answer any questions I had regarding my insurance coverage and appointments that I needed to make following my visit to Dr. Sedwick.

Doctor and Staff treated me with dignity and a professional attitude. I was there to overcome my sight problem and to assure myself and the Florida DMV that the revocation of my license should be restored. Explanations were very clear and allowed me to relax and perform to the best of my ability. Highly recommended by this layman. And my world will know it.

This doctor has an excellent bedside manner. She spends time with you and explains everything to your understanding and answers all your questions. I wish more was like her. She is an example to all dr.'s. I had a brain tumor and she was and still is so caring and understanding to me as a patient. I was so scared. She was always there for me when I called her and her 1 lady Karen that is in the office is also the same way. I don't know how Karen runs the office by herself, but she does an exemplary job. They both are one of a kind. Dr. Sedwick is a very smart doctor. She cares about her patients and looks at you when she talks and listens to you. Not like other doctors that I have been to, your only a number and name to them. They should give classes to other offices on how to help patients. I have a lot of medical problems and have been to many Dr.s I wish she could see me for all my medical problems.

I have read the other comments on this office and I don't agree, so i wanted to say that once I got all the documents to Dr Sedwicks office I found working with office a pleasure. Karen was efficient in making sure that she got what she needed to obtain an appointment for me, Dr Sedwick spent a great deal of time asking questions and examining my eyes to diagnose my problem. I left this office with a good feeling that I was well taken care of from the beginning to end. I give this office a great review. Thanks for taking such good care of me.

We had to jump through many hoops to even get the appointment, we did all they asked us to do, and just found the overall appointment disappointing. As with the other reviews, I also had an unpleasant experience with the front desk person. She called to let us know their claim was denied by medicare because of blah blah blah, then proceeded to ask for $$$, when I told her to send the invoice, she said she will take our credit card info over the phone right now. Did not comply, I then called medicare and was explained yes it was denied, but the office can resubmit it again correctly, and they will pay, and "if help is needed please call them." I relayed that bit of info, and was told, well that will take a month and if they deny again, you will have to pay! This behavior is very unprofessional, and yes quite rude. Never mind the fact we are dealing with a terminal illness, thanks for the extra stress. Will not recommend and will let the neurologist know so as not to refer her as… well.

Absolutly terrible service. Front desk lady called me to confirm my apointment. The most dispicabale woman I have ever encountered. I am dealing with tons of medical issues and was extremely rude. I would never EVER refer ANYONE TO SEE HER
