Dr. Garcia listens to your concerns and does not over prescribe medications.

For about two years, horribly itchy skin has greatly reduced the quality of my life, yet Dr. Garcia minimized the problem, inferring that the problem is in my head, although he apparently ignored the fine, raised, slightly reddened rash over several areas of my body - and all around the areas where I've excoriated my skin from scratching like wild, often while in my sleep. He didn't connect my frequent crying with the constant misery I've experiencing, although he asked me why I was taking an antidepressant. I told him it was because I cry much of the time and can't seem to control it. This was very unusual for me until a few months back. I have ides about why this is so, but from Dr. Garcia's demeanor, I didn't feel that I could explain this to him, so I said nothing more. I don't deny that I'm damaging my skin from constant scratching, but the itching is very real and (I feel) likely due to a contact allergy I haven't figured out. I've noticed that fruit-flies cause severe… itching, as did a lotion made for applying in the shower (that I thought would help), but these are the only irritants I've been able to figure out. The current skin condition I saw Dr, Garcia for was caused by sensitivity to permethrin his colleague prescribed for me, assuming that the itching was caused by scabies (it wasn't, although the remedy DID cause the worst itching and skin irritation I've experienced, thus far) and this is why I made the appointment with Dr. Garcia. He tweaked my medication a bit and advised me to STOP SCRATCHING MY SKIN. Duh... I wish I could... He likened it to people who clear their throats, although they have no irritation in their throats, and told me that I must do the same through sheer force of will. Did I mention he washed his hands THOROUGHLY, while having a disdainful expression on his face, during the middle of my examination? I greatly admire thorough and frequent hand washing, but he didn't have to make it so obvious as to embarrass me... If he'd used a bit more tact, it wouldn't have made me feel so badly about myself... I have a dermatology appointment I'll keep, for treatment of my sensitive skin! If she thinks I'm crazy, maybe she'll refer me for psychiatric help. If Dr. Garcia thought I was so crazy that the itching is all in my head, I don't understand why he didn't refer me to a psychiatrist or therapist for help. My recommendation would be that Dr. Garcia is probably a fine physician to see for the usual medical complaints, but don't visit him for any conditions outside of his specialty (internal medicine). This is not specifically about Dr. Garcia, but the healthcare, overall, that I've experienced and/or have seen since living in Florida - in my humble opinion - is substandard to healthcare I've received or know of in other areas. Being a registered nurse, I notice such things...

Dr. Garcia is the most compassionate doctor I've ever come to know. He is thorough, meticulous, patient and gentle. He takes his time with each patient; never hurrying patients out like some doctors do. He treats his patients like family. I have recommended him to my friends, and after going to him, they thanked me for giving out his name. I proudly recommend him to anyone who asks me.

He will not listen to what you say is wrong or how you feel. For over a year my wife asked for a referal to a breast dr. Garcia told her to get a mamogram, which didn;t show the cancer. It was very small when she discovered it , because it is very low on breast he told her have a DERTAMOLIGIST remove it. When he finally refered het to a breast specialist the cancer is about the size of my thunb. What shouls have been taken care of a year ago is now being treated by a Dr. who knows what he is doing. Again BEWARE!!!!!!!

Dr. Garcia is a by the book doctor. He follows protocol and rarely misses common diagnoses. He is kind and not over-booked like so many other doctors. He is the best doctor I've found in this area.
