Lyndsey Strang, NP

​Lyndsey Strang is a family nurse practitioner specializing in oncology. She provides care for patients with issues relating to many different types of cancer and treatments.
Strang originally went to school for psychology, but had the opportunity to work with the U.S. Peace Corps in Benin, West Africa. That experience changed the trajectory of her career.
“I worked as a rural community health adviser with nurses and midwives," Strang said. “It was this work that inspired me to pursue a career in nursing."
Strang's experience as a clinical research associate helped her narrow her nursing focus to cancer care.
“I've always been impressed by the quality of care that was provided in the oncology setting and knew that I wanted to be a part of that," Strang said.
Communication and education are vitally important in Strang's method of care.
“When patients have a greater understanding of their illness and treatment plan, they are more empowered to actively participate …in their care," Strang said.
Strang earned her doctor of nursing practice degree at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two children. They stay busy hiking, working in the garden and taking care of their chickens and bees. ​
