Summary
My Specialty and Why I Chose It
I am an Emergency Medicine physician, which means I work in the Emergency Room, and deal with a wide spectrum of medical problems ranging from acute life threatening conditions such as heart attacks and strokes, to more benign problems like the common cold, and everything else in between. I have chosen this field because of the variety and the excitement of the unknown, as you can't ever bet on what the ambulance may bring you next or what may walk through the door.
My Practice Philosophy
My approach to patient care is to always try to have empathy for my patients because being sick is one of the scariest things that can happen to someone. As a doctor with years of training, I can usually separate serious symptoms from less concerning ones. However, to the general public that didn't have the benefit of years of medical education, any abnormal symptom can be very frightening. It is with this in mind that I approach all my patients, educating and …reassuring them when things are okay, and try to provide them with the best possible care when they are ill. When I go to work, I have your best interest in my mind and will treat you with respect and compassion. I have chosen a service oriented profession because I truly like people and I will always strive to provide you with the best service during your times of greatest need.
My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente
I have been a part of the Kaiser family since 2006, and I have been blessed to be working with such an amazing group of professionals who are truly dedicated to their jobs and believe in the value of their chosen fields.
Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente
I believe in the Kaiser Permanente way because Kaiser is always looking to the latest information and technologies for ways to improve patient care and satisfaction. Kaiser Permanente is a very well integrated system that allows patients very easy access to its vast resources. Kaiser not only fixes medical problems when they arise, but also aims to prevent these problems in the first place through numerous patient education programs and support services, and that is the foundation of a great healthcare system. Kaiser also understands the importance of continuing education for its professional staff, and offers a variety of learning opportunities to ensure its providers stay up to date on the latest medical developments, thus in turn ensuring its patient members receive the best possible care. The bottom line is that Kaiser Permanente is an organization that doesn't believe in complacency, and is constantly striving for improvement and excellence, and that is the reason why I am proud to be a part of Kaiser Permanente.
On a Personal Note
I have lived in Kentucky and North Carolina, both beautiful states. But after I moved to California for residency training, I just stayed. I truly enjoy what this region has to offer in terms of exciting outdoor adventures, fine dining, social activities, sunny weather, nice people, cultural diversity, and potential for so much more growth. I love snowboarding in Tahoe, biking on the American River trail, hiking on any one of the numerous trails surrounding Sacramento, catching a cool movie at the IMAX, or hanging out at one of the local parks on a beautiful sunny day. Find something you enjoy and take advantage of what this area has to offer, and life will be that much more satisfying and enjoyable. Remember to work hard and play hard!
