Dr. Lynnford S Wilson, MD

I am so grateful and thankful to Dr. Wilson for giving me my normal life again which I had thought will never happen 4 months ago from today. I had a very bad ankle (right) fracture (Trimal with Dislocation) while hiking in Iceland and had to fly back to the States for surgery and ER doctors referred me to Dr. Wilson who originally wasn't available and was going on a vacation the next day when I saw him, but after not being able to find any other surgeon on such short notice, he performed the surgery himself in late evening as I needed it immediately due to severity of my injury and am I glad that he did! I read his notes from surgery, just few days ago, and got to know how complicated things were for me and how he did an outstanding job on my ankle as if he was doing it for someone of his own - like a daughter! - I don't use this compliment loosely as I have an amazing father. He even checked-in on me early next morning before he left for his vacation. I wasn't expecting him, rather… one of his PAs as I knew he was going on vacation but now after 4 months of knowing him, its not surprising that he did that - such high level of dedication! He never sugar-coated anything, very straight forward from the get-go, always telling me what to expect and how to overcome which was basically to follow his instructions to the T. Honestly, this is what I needed, it was all for my good! This was a serious injury and a major surgery and I have had the most frustrating, toughest and roughest time in last 4 months but today I am walking, standing for longer durations, driving, going to the gym and almost doing everything I used to before this injury and this is all because I had a surgeon like Dr. Wilson. I have had people and other surgeons (family doctor and friends) see my x-rays post-op and told me how clean and beautiful job has been done on my ankle.  I just learnt that he is retiring and I am sorry to see him leave his practice as not many patients will be able to get this highest level of care and treatment now but I consider myself blessed and fortunate to be his patient. What happened with me was very unfortunate and at the worst possible time in my life but being able to be under Dr. Wilson's care (just by chance) was fortunate enough to compensate that.  Forever grateful!!

Excellent Surgeon!!! Not sure how he has 3 stars. Maybe because hes honest, and doesn't sugarcoat your injury, or whether you are applying yourself. His abilities are top tier. I have type 4 bilateral calcaneal fractures, he is giving me exceptional care and prepared me mentally for the challenges I will have in front of me to walk again. I'm blessed that my journey eventually got me to him, I know I'm in the best care

Boots? That was Dr Wilson's brilliant yet simple answer to our 14 year old son's aching and painful flat feet. We followed his advice and bought our son a pair of Bates Boots (no products or brands were endorsed) and within a day of wearing that footwear, our son was feeling relief. We appreciate Dr Wilson's no-nonsense manner and honest approach...no need for fancy inserts or surgery....the boots have made all the happy difference for our son!

Dr. Sam Wilson treated me for ankle and knee pain. Rapid, no-nonsense approach with no jargon. Tells it like it is. Goes out of his way to explain likely surgical outcomes and risks. Thanks to Dr. Wilson I am pain free without surgery.

Dr. Wilson is very thorough physician, he'll try everything to avoid surgery. He's very stern but if you follow his directions it works. I have recommended many people to his office

Dr. Wilson is a very smart, caring physician and probably the only surgeon I don't mind going to. He is very thorough and tells it like it is. He has years of experience so I felt very comfortable with him from the start. He performed plantar fasciitis surgery on my right foot a couple of years ago and I recovered nicely. No surprises! I have some other issues with my toes now and just had another consult with Dr. Wilson. I fully know the recovery time, what to expect, etc, thanks to Dr. Sam Wilson. Will be having surgery again soon, I think. I thoroughly trust him and would recommend him to anyone considering any type of foot surgery. I had been to several foot doctors / surgeons in the Leesburg/Sterling VA area but ended up going to Dr. Wilson after everything else failed. Do your homework when selecting any surgeon. Good luck!
