Dr. Grace Patel moved to Greensboro in January of 2015 to serve as a pediatric ophthalmologist for the community. After three years, she is pursuing her own practice in order to continue serving the Triad and beyond.
Her medical school, post-doctoral research, and residency were completed at the University of Kentucky. She then completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at St. Louis Children's Hospital through Washington Univ. in St. Louis/Barnes-Jewish Hospital. She has clinical and surgical experience with a broad spectrum of childhood eye disorders, most commonly strabismus and amblyopia. She has a particular interest in treating childhood cataracts and retinopathy of prematurity.
Dr. Patel is married with two sons under the age of three. The men in the household keep her busy outside of work and she wouldn't have it any other way. Her family enjoys serving with Grace Community Church. In her (rare) spare time, she might be found on the tennis courts, reading a book or …practicing piano.
