Doesn't speak English well. Gets mad if you him to repeat because you didn't understand or if you question him.

This Doctor has a very bad attitude. On my 1st visit I handed him a complete printout of my prescriptions and the supplements that I take. I also listed all the Doctors on this list. The list was printed out for him in Word format. He proceeded to berate me because I didn't type out my health history on this list. I am a 67 year old man pursuing a kidney transplant which he was aware of. He sent me for unnecessary test and wants me to follow-up on more tests in the future. The 2 kidney transplant sites have seen these tests and since then have both put me on their transplant list. I called the office and fired the Doctor. I will never return to him again and hope that enough people read this review and other reviews about him before they make any decisions. On my way out I asked them why my appointments and previous visits were not on my portal. I told them that I connect through Advocate Condell to view in MyChart. They told me that they don't upload that information. Another reason… why I fired him.

Great office staff dedicated to helping you accurately and quickly. Dr. Barhoum is an exceptional endocrinologist who helps you to take charge of your health on a daily basis. Very dedicated staff!

He is a very honest and thorough doctor. He challenges me to do my best within my control to manage my medical conditions and makes sure all medical options are clearly understood. His staff is dedicated and professional. They go above and beyond every day. I have been a patient for 4 years and reccomend Dr. Barhoum.

I am an old Asian lady and I had 2 visit to this doctor, which were nightmares for me. The first time I felt that he was not friendly but my relative said that might be his personality. As long as he can treat the patient well, why do we care about his attitude? He asked for lots of information from more than ten years ago. I couldn't provide that so he was upset. He even said " I won't see you if it was not referred by Dr Otto." I don't get it why he said something like that. He ordered a lot of tests and told me that it will help to figure out if the surgery from more than ten years ago is true. Then I followed what he said and had all the tests done. When I went back for follow up, he simply told me there is no excess hormones produced. For anything else, he said he doesn't know. I was so angry and argued with him why he treated me like that. He even said he doesn't care. Just because I am an Asian? or something else. The way he talked to me really made me feel like I… was discriminated and I felt sick for several days. This is not acceptable for medical practice

My first day appointment was a nightmare i will not recommend him at all. He was very mean person like raising his voice at me very disrespectful or because i was a Latino or what that was my last appointment don't know how Advocate Condell hospital has him on there network

Hi my name is Angie and I’ve been a patient of Dr. Barhoum for about 2 years now. He isn’t rude, he is just honest. Sorry if that hurts some patients feelings but it has to be said, sugar coating everything about your case won’t help you. Dr. Barhoum in my view is a great Dr. because of the fact he keeps me on my toes. When my labs don’t come out the way he wants, yes he is very forward about it but it’s because I’m not doing my part and it makes me feel bad. That’s because I know I can do better and so does he. I know this because when I’m doing a good job it’s a happy and great outcome appointments DNC’s he is very happy is well. So point is pretty much depends on the person whether they like this kind of Doctor or not.Friendly staff, all the girls there are so kind and the office decor is nice!

Dr. Barhoum is an excellent physician, I was very pleased with my experience at his office. The experience I had made me feel I am in safe hands. I appreciated his follow up and willingness to answer questions also.It was good to be treated with professionalism and care. The staff is very nice and friendly too. A big Thanks to Dr. Barhoum and his staff.

No good manners, very rude, didnt introduce himself. He raised his voice at me and the person I went with. Also the place where he works is money hungry. We went one time and they didn't do anything but tell us what we know, but hey they still our 60$. Yeah look for another doctor this guy is trash

My previous doctor retired. And I transferred to Dr Barhoum just recently and I have seen results instantly I’m so greatful To have found a good doctor.
