Absolutely incredulous. I suffer from chronic migraines, occipital neuralgia, and Trigeminal neuralgia. I was scheduled 3 weeks in advance for an occipital nerve block that would include injection of local anesthetic followed by injection of anti inflammatory steroids to provide extended pain relief from debilitating occupational neuralgia pain. Dr. Are only injected local anesthetic and no anti inflammatory steroids. My pain got exponentially worse, and after I spoke up to advocate for myself, rather than take accountability and fix the problem properly, I was fired as a patient from the clinic. I didn?t use profanity, threats of violence, or any other behavior that would actually justify discontinuing care for a patient. I simply educated myself on how the procedure is done properly, advocated for myself, and apparently bruised their ego with my criticism about the performance that caused me further injury and increased my already-debilitating pain to unbearably high levels. I… expected Nebraska Medicine to choose better for the doctors who they employ. What I find alarming is they allow doctors who behave this way to teach future pain management specialists the same patient “care” apathy.
