Dr. Mae Maya Ushigome, MD

She was great. I had stage 3 VIN, she was my surgeon. I found her to be a wonderful doctor. She did a fantastic job on the surgery. She was kind, patient, and answered all my questions. If you are referred to Dr Ushigome, consider yourself fortunate. You'll be in good hands. I'm very thankful She was my surgeon.

If I could give a 0 stars would. do not see this woman. She is terrible, she is rude and does not care about her patients. Her style is on to the next one. She doesn't care about your pre-existing conditions or recovery. She does not listen to your needs or or prioritize your concerns. She refuses to give accurate notes. And will try to force you to return to work before you are ready. Regardless of how much contact you have had with her regarding your recovery or lack thereof. According to this woman, you should be walking just fine after a week when they've cut through your abdominal wall. I don't have to be a doctor to know that's not enough time. She has an absolutely horrible attitude which shows she couldn't care less about you.

Cold, robotic, and condescending. If you like to be in and out for a PAP then she's probably your go-to. If you're there for something more than a swab she's annoyed with you for just being a patient.

I saw Dr. Ushigome in nurse triage at Kaiser Pan City due to complications in pregnancy. I immediately could tell she had poor bedside manner, interrupted me, would not explain, and was very cold. When I expressed concerns she looked at me as if what I was saying was not valid or stupid. In addition, due to complications in the hospital my son was unable to have circumcision after delivery. I ended up having to see her yet again and she performed the circumcision. She did not meet with us prior to the procedure and when the nurse let us return to the room she saw us coming back and did not even acknowledge us to explain how it went. My son was screaming for at least 15 minutes (which may be normal) when I finally was able to quiet him we asked to talk to her to find out how it went as we had some questions. When she finally came to talk to us she was standoffish and her answers were short and very curt. Avoid this Dr. if you can. I am not sure why she is in the profession as she… does not seem to enjoy CARING for people.

I was experiencing severe pain due to fibroids and endometriosis. I had very little knowledge on the matter. She educated me and left me with a clear understanding of what I was dealing with and what to expect in order to remedy the situation. I underwent surgery, performed by Dr. Mae and was pleased with the outcome. She followed up with me post op and provided me with exceptional after care. I would recommend her to any woman that experienced what I suffered from.

She didn’t seem to care about any of the questions that I had about my health, didn’t bother to respond to my emails and when she did respond she’d dismiss my queries without any explanation like I’m an idiot to be even be concerned about my health issues.

I feel botched up and was left for someone else to figure what went wrong.

Ushigome is cold and unpleasant and condescending. I was excited for weeks about my first prenatal appointment and I left her office very disheartened. She establishes no rapport whatsoever.

Dr Mae is a wonderful OB/GYN who thinks laterally, has a personal touch, is patient, does not rush you, returns phone calls that you make her with questions, and never makes you feel objectified or powerless. In short --the best!
