Dr. Maged Sami Abdou, MD

In 2019, Dr. Abdou met with my wife and me about my herniated disc. I underwent a laminotomy and microdiscectomy for 9 out of 10 scale sciatica pain. He was serious, amazingly brilliant, confident and gave me a feeling of safety and calm. My wife, who can’t stand doctors ordinarily, found him to be so caring and warm and concerned, even after while I was in the recovery unit, he sat with her to go over all he did and how he felt things went well and to keep me from overdoing lifting/bending in the following weeks.This man has over 50 U.S.patents in the medical field! The day after surgery I had zero pain and still do to this day. The healing of the 1.5” surgical wound took 3 months but it never got infected and healed nicely. I will forever be thankful for Dr. Abduo and his staff.

Dr. Sammy Abdou is an excellent neurosurgeon. He did not sugar coat the seriousness of my meningioma or surgery risks. I have to admit that his honest and straight out/dry personality scared me at first which convinced me to get a second opinion. The second neurosurgeon was friendly, yet he shared the same approach as Dr. Abdou as to how to go about extracting my brain tumor. In the end I decided to have Dr. Abdou perform my surgery. Though there were complications during and after surgery, I must say that I am blessed and thankful that I am able to walk, eat on my own, see, write, drive, work and have a normal life. I am eternally grateful to Dr. Abdou. I would advise you not to let your first impression of him or bad reviews online scare you. He is an excellent neurosurgeon. He saved my life and thanks to him I live a normal life.

He’s rude, condescending, and patronizing. He walked out of my room yelling at the top of his lungs and threw a temper tantrum like a toddler. Worst experience of my life.

I was very impressed the my experience with Dr. Abdou and his staff. I was in a lot of pain when I went in for eval. He evaluated my situation and gave me options. I was scheduled for surgery, and it went extremely well. I feel so much better, still healing but the nerve pain is gone I think it is amazing how they can do disc replacement now and you are up and going in a few day, with restrictions, at first, of course. But I just want to say that my overall experience and care was excellent and amazing. Thank you Dr. Abdu and staff.You are very much appreciated

Intelligent, highly skilled surgeon. Accurately diagnosed my problem. Spent a lot of time explaining diagnosis and procedure. Pain is gone since surgery. Highly recomend him.
