Dr. Maggie Rose Biebel, DO

Although I waited a while this was my first visit and well worth the wait. This is a doctor that is truly a cut above the rest. Brenda her assistant was terrific . The doctor gave me near an HOUR, thinks outside the box, talks to you as a person of value, respectful, compassionate, keen and insightful. She’s the one after many many years of searching that you will feel like you finally found an ally.

Dr. Biebel spends very little time with the patient and is a big fan of unnecessary referrals. Her answer to my symptoms is a referral. She has misread blood results, leading me to believe I had Lupus for several weeks when in fact I have no rheumatoid condition. The rheumatologist said he didn't know why I was referred, as the blood panel indicated I did not test positive, and the labs ordered were curious to him. Not one, but THREE specialists were confused at my referral. The last one said "the referrals need to stop, and I don't hesitate to write that in my note to Dr. Biebel." Apart from ill-received 'primary care,' the office management at East Primary is horrendous. One day I called for a prescription refill that I have to pick up in person at 8am. By 4pm that day I called to see if it was ready, as I rely on this prescription at nighttime. It was not ready. I asked for the refill to be expedited, as the office closed an hour later. I arrived to pick up the prescription at… 4:30, and CARRIE, the receptionist, said that it was not ready and retrieved the 'office manager' (a nurse) to explain that there is no provider at East Harbor Primary Care on Weds and Thurs to sign off on prescriptions. They turned me away and I had to miss my dose that day. I suffered and fell ill as a result. The following day, I was promised that Beibel would be asked to sign off on the prescription at 7am, and I would be called when it is ready. By 1pm I had received no call. Thank god my condition is not life-threatening. I wonder if it were, whether I would not have been turned away. Long story short - if you expect a refill within 48 of calling, DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE. Your health will suffer and you WILL be looking for a new doctor.
