Dr. Maggie Ann Ney, MD

I remember flying home on the plane after my 40th birthday trip and experiencing my first hot flash. I thought to myself, "there's no way that is actually what is happening. I'm far too young to be experiencing this!" Turns out, I was not. My period became more and more infrequent, and I stopped having one altogether at age 41. Meanwhile, all of the other classic perimenopausal symptoms began to set in: brain fog, weight gain, bloating, constipation, headaches, chronic styes & UTI's, fatigue, dry skin, vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, loss of libido, roller coaster mood swings... the list goes on. Dr. Ney completely assuaged my confusion, frustration, inexperience and misconceptions about the hormonal changes I was experiencing. She put me on an incredibly effective hormone replacement therapy regimen that--within a couple of weeks--completely shifted how I was feeling. I went from feeling totally out of sorts, not present in my own body, feeling like my hormones were throwing everything out of whack into a tailspin, to having my life, body and mental health back. She is truly at the forefront of female reproductive health and is constantly seeking out continuing education and research to further her knowledge on the subject. Her gentle, holistic, intuitive, well-rounded and harmonious approach to medicine is a style that more doctors should be inspired to follow. I cannot imagine putting my healthcare in the hands of any other provider. We have always been able to talk frankly and openly about these distinctly female challenges. Additionally, whatever other issues have arisen in my medical path, the referrals she has given me have been outstanding! I have referred her to numerous friends, who have also had incredible experiences. Another plus is that while being her patient at Akasha, one also has access to all of the other outstanding and multifaceted providers there.
