Dr. Maheen Mubarak Malik, MD

I have had 2 visits with Dr Malik so far and she has been the best psychiatrist I have had in my life.

During this time frame I called in approximately 6x never to speak to a real person. I was always sent to a voicemail. I left my messages but no one ever returned my call. On one of the calls I was inquiring about the side effects of a newly prescribed medication and status report for my father. I explained my concerns on the voicemail, but no one returned any of my calls. The only way I received answers to my questions is that I physically went to the office and stood at the front window x2. I asked to see an office manager x2 to express my concerns of the incompetence of their system, but never was allowed to speak to one. I caution older patients, to have someone call for you, and be firm about not being put into voicemail. If that happens your question is lost forever. My level of frustration was a 10. Before passing away, my father only saw Dr. Malik once -she was very compassionate and felt that she did a good work-up. I also did a follow-up gripe session with her… and provided documentation of the past 4 weeks of the gross office incompetence. She read it and was sympathetic. I appreciated that.

Rude, uncaring, don't return calls at all you just have to keep calling. I gauge the worth/skill of a doctor by the staff. It appears the nurse wants to make sure the doctor does as little work as possible. Spend very little time with the doctor.

You get this doctor...good luck. I had to call and ask for results of an EEG on my husband and I was told it was normal. Right, he suffered a severe brain injury. The only time you see the doctor or her assistant is when they are prompted by the insurance company and then it's only for five minutes.
