Dr. Mahlet Alula, MD

Dr. Alula is an excellent physician who is so conscientious about my well-being. Her gentle (and repeated) counseling regarding my 30 year smoking habit was the primary reason why I am proudly celebrating 10 years as a non-smoker. She is very thorough and I never feel that she rushes through an exam. I actually think that she probably moves at an amazingly fast pace, but does it in such a way that you never feel that she is rushing you. That's the mark of a master. I will do everything that I can to avoid losing her as my doctor.

Where do I begin with Dr. Alula-she is such a blessing. She is the most thorough, patient, detailed, attuned doctor I've ever had. She looks at all my Scripps records, including those from other doctors (i.e. my OBGYN, eye doc, etc.) to ensure she has a comprehensive picture of my health. Her thoroughness literally saved my life once. I will always be a patient of Dr. Alula's.

Caring, listens to your symptoms, and works with you to provide the care you want and need. Pro-active and I would recommend her to all my friend. I just love her.

Dr. Alula was the doctor on call when I had a medical emergency. I was in great pain and her manner, her efficiency, and her kindness was what I needed when in pain. She followed up on the referrals ( an ultra-sound) and an MRI with which she was able to put " stat" on that referral. She knew I was not a patient of hers, but that didn't influence the extra time she gave me. I would highly recommend her.

Dr alula is great!!!

Dr. Alula is so intellegent and asks all the right questions to try and determine the best way to treat you. She doe not make you feel silly for going there even for something small. Her bedside manner is also amazing, she really cares about her patients.

Dr. Alula is a very thorough doctor. She was concerned about a few of my moles and contacted the dermotologist to make sure I got an appt. Turns out many of my moles were abnormal and because of her, they were able to remove them before being cancerous. She is also really good at prescribing prescriptions that your insurance company will cover rather than making you pay a lot out of pocket for them.

I moved to san Diego four years ago and have since had four dfferent primary care doctors! Dr. Alula is my fourth. In my search to find a doctor within my network that listens, takes time with me, explains things in laymen's terms, and is etremely thorough, I found Dr. Alula. I've only been with her this past year and I am very happy with her and grateful for her. She's all of the things I describe above, coupled with a well balanced attitude towards the realities of life, preventative healthcare and overall wellness. I really appreciate her compassion, energy,professionalism...and her patience! She's great!

She is an amazing doctor who treats the whole person. I can not say enough positive things about Dr. Alula.
