Dr. Maia Ho Hightower, MD

She read my lab blood work that I had done on my own. I went to Labcorp, but had purchased the testing from Health One (?). She first laughed and wondered why I had gone to Missouri to have my blood tests done and then misread my thyroid levels and told me that I needed a reduction in medication - wrong! She was not happy that I did not like the Endo in her office that she had referred me to. Somehow the poor referral was an attack on her character. Leave the personal issues outside the door. As a patient I was just trying to feel well, which is always the goal when you go to the doctor. I found another endo and am doing better with 2x the amount of medication I was previously taking. Hormones are not heroin - loosen up and understand their value!

Diagnosis, the core of clinical practice, is among Dr. Hightower's strong points. She is very quick-minded and attentive and arrives at correct diagnoses quickly. She gets the best medicine or treatment for the patient's condition. And she is personable. (Incidentally, the congruence of names is coincidental.)

Very kind, caring and informative. One of the best ever. Assistants are great also.

Dr. Hightower is an excellent physician. From her office scheduling appointments (great staff). She is professionalism to its finest. Her diagnoses are excellent. Dr. Hightower has been trained to the highest level. She listens, she understands (has great perception); she is patient, kind; thorough; excellent response time (has computer savvy). Her office is organized, her staff is organized.
