Dr. Maju Mathews, MD

I don't remember how I found Dr. Mathews, and it took a long time (don't ask -- long story), until I began seeing him on a regular basis. He is a very caring man, not power-tripping or nuts like many in the profession. He is truly invested in helping his patients achieve happier lives and although he does spend the majority of his time in research, the patients whom he does see are treated with the utmost kindness, respect and concern. He is a good diagnostician and really listens to what you have to say. The profession needs many more like him.

He never shows up to work on time. We waited over an hour for him. He places patients on medications and then cancels follow up appointments. I have been trying to get a refill for two weeks with no response from him to emails, phone calls and the pharmacy contacting him. He is extremely careless and should not be practicing medicine.

From all indications this doctor prescribed pills like Klonopin like candy. Your refill request can be as simple as a 15 minute office visit.

Have been seeing him for 2 years. Overall happy with the care I have received. He is a compassionate and understanding doctor.

when Dr Mathews took over from Dr Demercurio,I was apprehensive about the change. But he has been great. My only complaint is that he is only in the office 1-2 days/week and sometimes it can be difficult to get hold of him or his staff. This is because the office is busy I guess. Otherwise, he has been great.
