Dr Malcolm K Robinson, MD

As a surgeon, yes he was great. I'm alive and doing well. My aftercare? Not so much. I had gastric bypass in 2014 and had a lot of ups and downs. He was cold, angry, and argumentative. I just asked him to write me a note for fmla for work (Unpaid time off) which I needed since I used all my time off for surgery and he doesn't do night time appointments. He told me that I "have issues" and should be checked out by a shrink. Seriously? I understand he has a medical degree but that does not give him the right to speak to me that way. I now have my pcp monitoring all my follow up to surgery. My pcp even asked that I report him for his behavior. His staff never even noticed. I have not received one phone call to follow up on surgery. I would never recommend him to anyone. Brigham and Women's should be ashamed of themselves. I work in healthcare so after looking at my eob (explanation of benefits or a receipt ) for the surgery, it was quite clear that the 70k my insurance paid to them, was… all that mattered.

Dr. Robinson is known as one of the best surgeons in town. If you want the facts and a straight forward doctor he is the one for you. If you want feelings and hand holding, I would find somebody else. He runs excellent clinics that move seamlessly between patients. I always make sure I am on time, because I know he will be on schedule. I appreciate his warm smile and genuine concern, and understand his reserved personality. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Robinson to friends and family.

My initial diagnosis for a bunion was OK. Recommended orthodics for $250+ which I purchased. Missed appt. charges $50.00 even if you cancel early of appt. Followed up on orthodics and indicated that they seemed to make it worse.Was combative when I could not tell him exactly why and impatient. He practices alone. Has antiquated X ray machine.Since went to Sport Medicine in Brookline. NIGHT & DAY professionals to Dr. Robinson and diagnosis much clearer and diff esp re the way the orthodics were made.

A GOOD QUALITY DOCTOR. MY CARE WAS EXCELLENT. HE IS A BIT STIFF AND HUMORLESS.....BUT THAT IS PROBABLY A GOOD THING IN A SURGEON.
