Was admitted to ER at SM UCLA w high electrolytes & shaking from very low blood sugar. Dr. Smith quickly told me to stop shaking my hands. Could not do. Admitted to ICU.

My first and only appointment, I told Dr. Smith the reason for my referral to him from my primary care doctor was to help me get a replacement mask for my CPAP machine. Dr. Smith explained that Medicare tends to put patients though multiple challenges so as to discourage them from following through. He was clear that Medicare would prefer I just “give up, due to the frustration.” He then told me there was nothing he could do without seeing a sleep study on me. I had my sleep study scanned into the UCLA Medical records system under my name. I notified Dr. Smith the study was in the system. I sent him a hard copy of the study. Hand delivered. I also completed a new study, done at home that Dr. Smith ordered for me. That study was electronically delivered to Dr. Smith on December 5th, 2017. Dr. Smith wrote me an email saying he, “Still didn’t… see the sleep study in the system”. I’ve had two different doctors tell me the sleep study was promptly scanned in to my records about a week after my original appointment with Dr. Smith. As of this writing on December 22nd, 2017, I have heard nothing from Dr. Malcolm I. Smith. Sincerely, David Q. Quick

Doctor Smith is one of the best I've seem. He is friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and very helpful. He listens to what you have to say, and considers your opinion, when it comes to further treatment or procedures. I would be very comfortable recommending Dr. Smith to either family or friends.
