Dr. Maliheh Massih, MD

Wow. Just wow is all I can muster after my first and ONLY appointment with Dr. Massih. I was referred to her by another doctor in her office for an EMG nerve conductivity on my legs since I have had 20+ joint surgeries including a Total Knee Replacement and have been experiencing pain, severe muscle spasms and connective tissue inflammation (I'm suspected to have EDS-H but cannot find a specialist to diagnose me). As soon as Dr. Massih walked in she looked at my legs in shorts and asked "Are we doing something with your legs?" I was taken aback and was a little concerned about the question. Again, having 20+ surgeries, I am always fearful that they get the wrong site or side. I told her what my referral was for and she told me to lay on my stomach on the table. I asked if the procedure was going to use needles as I am immunocompromised and wanted to be sure to share this information. She said, "Why?" I was confused but I mentioned that I had Crohn's Disease and take immunotherapy.… While I was struggling to get up on the table she asked why I was here. I repeated the referral information again and explained what my referring doctor told me about the possible pain & checking for neuropathy. She asked me my age and then when I told her 44 she dismissed me saying, "You are too young to have so much pain and to have a TKR." Like Doctor, if I only had a $1 for every time a doctor dismissed me like that especially since I have had chronic pain since I was 5 yrs old (1st time I dislocated my knees) I'd be rich. She then looked at my binder of medical records that I bring to every new doctor visit and asked if I had recent imaging. I explained what the binder was and reminded her that my referring doctor had just taken X-rays & that he had shared them with her already. She literally said, "I don't need them, this is a diagnostic test. You do know what that is correct? I'll do the test but I don't need to know why you are here or what you had done. This test will tell me all I need to know. If you don't want to do this test you can leave." It was at this point that I just shut down. I answered the minimum questions and started to tear up under my mask. I just wanted to leave and not come back. The nerve test was fine and the needles didn't bother me. The sad thing was that I was just told my nerves are fine and healthy with no issues. I didn't get a report, any handouts or material at all. I was just left with more medical trauma by another lazy and inept doctor. Do yourself and your wallet a favor - DO NOT see Dr. Massih.

I'm absolutely enraged at how Dr. Maliheh Massih treated my mother at her first appointment. We'll never come back here and I'll recommend anyone and EVERYONE against this place. Dr. Massih was dismissive, rude, and disrespectful towards my mother's request about disability and was insistent on my mother being employed and working through her major lumbar and cervical issues (diagnosed spinal stenosis, degenerative discs, nerve pain, & more) even though my mother hasn't been able to physically work for over a year. Does this doctor want people to purposefully worsen their physical conditions so she can repeatedly inject them and prescribe them with pain medication? Not only that, but Dr. Massih was impatient and rushed her appointment. How can you get to understand your patient's issues if you don't give them the time to explain their ailments? And even with the limited time she gave my mother, she would talk over her and ignore her concerns. She even angrily opened up the… appointment by asking my mother "why [she] was even here." And when my mother asked Dr. Massih to explain the side effects of a certain procedure, Dr. Massih insisted that she would only tell her once they were cleared to do the procedure. So, basically, she wanted to pressure my mother into making an appointment for the procedure first before explaining anything. Is this a doctor who cares, or a doctor who simply wants money? I think it's clear what her aim is. Regardless of whether or not Dr. Massih is a good doctor, our first impressions of her are highly negative. I'll never be able to trust someone so rude, dismissive, and uncooperative, and I strongly suggest others to avoid this doctor.

She didn’t even listen to my problems started reprimanding me on my use of meds

Dr. Maliheh Massih has poor bedside manner. I personally saw her maligning a mexican patient in pain and calling her a liar in the waiting room.She also fails to do complete physical exams. Her medical school training is poor or her faculty did not pay attention to her bad behavior or ask her to correct it.

Was seen by Dr Massih for weakness and numbness in my right hand. She was very rude and only wanted to do a very expensive EMG test on me. She miss diagnosis me after billing my insurance 1500 dollars. Ending up going to a Neurologist who did the same exam with the correct diagnosis. Had surgery and back to 100%. Never trust middle eastern trained doctors. It is all about the money for her.
