Unprofessional

We met, we discussed my goals for treatment. She asked for a family meeting, we met, we worked out a safety plan (I am suicidal). We met some more. I asked if we could set up regular appointments, since scheduling two sessions a week at different times all the time was tough. She said yes, but we could do it the next time we met. We met today. She said the safety plan was no good, and that she could not treat me. My family is as shocked by her abrupt change as I am. We feel she acted on a misleading manner, and unnecessarily stretched out the number of appointments by doing so. I feel awfulâ??especially at her suggestion that I should go try "meditation and medication" as an alternative.

Money Hungry

Was very thoughtful and well versed in western medicine and alternative approaches. And though I followed taking medication to the letter, I initially was reluctant to follow directives she recommended, such as meditation, in addition to the meds prescribed. Upon becoming more proactive in researching the benefits of meditation, I soon discovered a plethora of research on the therapeutic aspects of this ancient modality to help with anxiety and depression, to name but a few of the mental health concerns it successfully addresses. My following through on Dr. O's recommendation that I add meditation to my daily regimen, has been a major turning point in my treatment, ultimately for the better.

I went to see doctor for consultation. She charges $600.00 for initial consultation and $350.00 for follow up. Her recommendation was another therapy I cannot afford.

I had tried a few other doctors before I found Dr. Occhiogrosso. She is thoughtful, calm, and caring (but not in a overly touchy-feely way that you can find with some docs). I feel like I have partner, a good guide, in addressing the issues that brought me to her office. She calls me out when needed - but in an effective, non-confrontational way. Highly recmnded.
