Dr. Mamata Nataraj Mysore, MD

Since I have had schizophrenia for nearly 50 years, I’ve been to many psychiatrist, she is one of the top 10%. She suits my personality and has been helpful in getting refills promptly. Kaiser makes you wait a long time, but she is worth the wait.

Dr. Mysore has been wonderful. I have a son with severe autism, and one son with ADHD, and both have been greatly helped by Dr. Mysore. She is knowledgable, and many convenient ways to keep in touch without need for in-person visits. Highly recommend.

This doctor did not return my urgent call for 30 hrs. after I and others notified her that my 15 y/o had written suicide letters. My child had been under her care as an inpatient days before. She demonstrated gross medical negligence and I will not allow my child to come under her care again.

SHE IS AWFUL I HATE HER RUDE AND BAD AT TREATMENT

Dr. Mysore virtually trapped our teen on an inpatient eating disorders unit when another inpatient unit in another hospital had assessed her as more appropriate for treatment there. (Her outpatient therapists were in agreement with this latter assessment). Dr. Mysore would not agree to allow her to transfer to this other program - even after receiving advocating phone calls from the outpatient psychiatrist and psychotherapist and even from the director of the other program (which, parenthetically, had treated our daughter in the past). It was a frightening experience to watch our daughter - who has a trauma history - not be listened to, empathized with, nor allowed to transfer to another facility - to, in effect, be held captive. With guidance from a hospital Patient Advocate, we instructed our daughter to give 72 hours notice and leave AMA, and we brought her straight to the other facility. We are pleased to say that she has received excellent treatment to date from the moment she… left Dr. Mysore's care.
