Dr. Mandy L Hayes, MD

Dr. Hayes was wonderful to me. I came in worried about a heart attack, and she was very reassuring. She did absolutely everything she could to help me out, and answered all my questions thoughtfully. Hopefully I never have to go back to the ER- but if I do, I hope I have her again.

My son was brought into the ER for a swollen, painful knee. A week and a half prior to this he had been hospitalized and underwent surgery for a septic knee. Dr. Hayes was rude and was insistent on discharging my son. She hardly even assessed his knee. She told my husband that she was not able to admit a patient for “fussiness”. Thankfully, my husband refused to be discharged and we were able to be admitted by another provider. Turns out my son has osteomyelitis and four days later continues to be hospitalized. He had a PICC line placed yesterday and will be hospitalized for several more days and then will receive IV antibiotics for at least 3 weeks. Clearly, it was more than “fussiness”, and even if it weren’t, she was horribly unprofessional and negligent. It is terrifying that she is not only practicing medicine in such a rude and wreckless way, but that she is also doing this in front of residents. I really hope that these residents do not think this is okay. I’m a registered… nurse, my father and sister-in-law are general surgeons, my sister is a psychiatrist, and my brother is a hospitalist and they are all disgusted with how Dr. Hayes treated us.
