Dr. Manfred Kanu Obi, MD

This doctor is the rudest doctor I’ve ever been to. He does not listen to patients and over prescribes medications to keep you coming back. It’s quite scary that he has a medical degree.

I recently had the unpleasant experience of meeting dr. Obi for the first time. Upon my arrival i was told i would be seen at my appointment time, even though i showed up 10 minutes early. That was fine. I finally was not seen until about 45 minutes later. I told him the reason for my visit, which was for anxiety. Every question he asked, was interrupted as I answered him. He never asked me what medications I was currently taking, even though I informed him I was being treated for hypertension. I told him I did not want to be on a medication daily, just an emergency medicine, as advised by my PCP and was just looking for a refill. He prescribed me 5 medications, including one I told him I had a bad reaction to. He told me I would be fine if I just cut the pill in half. He told me if I did not like his way of practicing, then I should see my PCP again. I again told him I do not need all those medications he was writing, but he insisted on telling me they would help me. He told me… to come back in 2 weeks and he will see how I am doing. On my bad judgement, I just went to the pharmacy and filled the prescriptions but asked to not fill the one I could not take. I paid OVER $50 for 4 prescriptions and when I went home and I read the instruction manual attached to the prescriptions. They were the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what I went and paid to see him for. 2 of the medications he prescribed me were blood pressure medications. Had he cared enough and asked me what I was already taking, I don’t think he would have given me those. Plus he gave me a narcaotic, which I stressed to him I did not want but only told me the non-generic name, which clearly I was not familiar with. Now, I’m out $50 for a copay and $50 for medications I can not and will not use. Also, he will not give refills on any medications without a new office office visit. My advice, do not see Dr. Obi. He is a money hungry doctor who does not care about patients needs or health. Stay away.
