Dr Manish Kumar, MD

Dr. Manish Kumar has long been fascinated by human biology and physiology. He enjoys practicing cardiology and is also trained in geriatrics and critical care with expertise in both geriatric cardiology and critical care cardiology.
“I chose cardiology in medical school," he said. “I also wanted to be a physician who did not want to stick to one organ, but rather manage patients holistically."
Dr. Kumar received his medical degree from Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, India. He completed a residency in internal medicine from the University of Connecticut in Farmington, Connecticut. He also completed a fellowship in critical care at Montefiore Medical Center in New York and a fellowship in Geriatrics at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Kumar is board-certified in internal medicine, geriatrics, echocardiography and cardiovascular medicine. ​
He sees patients for a multitude of heart diseases, like coronary artery disease, heart attack, atrial fibrillation, congestive …heart failure, ventricular arrhythmia, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, cardiogenic shock, respiratory failure and other critical illnesses causing multi-organ failure necessitating intensive care.
“My philosophy for practicing medicine has always revolved around helping patients choose and make the right decisions that align with their wishes and goals of care," said Dr. Kumar. “I treat patients the same way I would like my own family members to be treated and believe in providing individualized, patient centered, meaningful and holistic care."
