I may be an outlier but I had a beyond unprofessional experience with this doctor and staff. After about 4 minutes into the appointment just giving her my medical history and why I was there, Dr. Patel had to walk out to take a phone call. A few minutes later her staff came in and told me there was an emergency delivery and she would not be returning. Obviously taking time off work for this appointment i was frustrated but decided it wasn't a huge deal because it meant that if I was delivering, she would drop everything (although I would have liked her to pop her head in for 10 seconds to tell me there was an emergency and she had to run since I was a brand new patient, but she may not have thought of that if it was a true emergency so I wasn't too mad). Then, it appeared as if there was no protocol in place for an event like this which there clearly should be since it's an obgyn office and babies come all the time. When I asked what next they told me I could wait and when I said I… had to go back to work they said they guessed I could reschedule -while one of the staff wasn't wearing a mask I might add. We rescheduled and since I hadn't actually had an appointment, I asked to make sure I wouldn't get charged for that day and the response was "Oh, i guess I can leave a note for the office manager about it." Which I was surprised by because I clearly didn't get the appointment I booked so why would I be charged for it. I got a voicemail that night saying I didn't need to come in and Dr. Patel would just finish the appointment over the phone. I'm trying to find a doctor that will be my partner in conceiving and delivering my first baby so I just decided this wasn't the right fit for me personally so I canceled my appointment 3 full days beforehand which was more than enough time. Fast forward a couple weeks: I just received a bill saying I was charged for the appointment I never received. I left a voicemail the minute I got the bill and when I returned their call the following day, I explained the whole situation. She spoke to the doctor and apparently because Dr. Patel gave me one piece of generic advice that my GP and internet gave me, they were going to charge me for the entire appointment that I only got about 4 minutes of and there's nothing I could do about it. Each piece alone is not a huge deal, but combined, it was weirdly unprofessional and just confirmed my choice to go elsewhere.

This group absolutely horrible. I wish I could give them zero star.Lots of extra charge, unnecessary tests. Back few months ago I was there with Dr. Patel. I had to call few times to get clear on extra charges, but no right answers. Asked for office manager, she is not there. I tried 4 different days and times but still no right answer. they said call your insurance. I called my insurance everything was fine, just extra charge from them. After few calls which made me tired of this situation, finally someone picked up the phone with thick strange accent hard to understand her words and said I'm office manager (Sarah) She raised her voice on me, and faced me with attitude, said I don't know this is what you have to pay, do you want to pay now over the phone? then I was super upset she gave me a number to call which is bling department in DC, they never pick up the phone and no message to call back. I ended up with 650$ . This is unprofessional practice, don't waste your money don't… waste your time.

I've been seeing this doctor for 6 years, delivered 2 babies with her. She is an ok doctor. She'll listen to you and be very attentive during your appointments. Don't expect to talk to her or hear from her outside your appointments. Outside appointments you're left with a subpar office staff. The current nurse, Ginger, is awful; she's cold and robotic. The lab tech they use is terrible - she can't stick and her lab numbers seem to actually be very off. She sent me home this morning because she couldn't draw my blood, and she numbers in comparison with my extremely reputable endocrinologist don't match up. Save yourself - find a doctor you can get in the phone who has a smart, friendly staff!!!

Dr.Manisha patel is very rude and does not have patience and does not connect with her patients. Never ever go to her. Keen on getting more money from patients and does not care to explain if particular tests are really mandatory or not. If you really need a doctor who is caring enough she is not one for you. Regret going to her.She has no manners.Does not spend enough with patients. DONT GO EVER TO HER

I can't say enough wonderful things about this doctor. She is extremely patient and very compassionate. She takes the necessary time to put me at ease when I have concerns. The nurse Lisa is AMAZING TOO!! I can't say enough wonderful things about this practice and their staff!

This is the first GYN that has not made me feel uncomfortable at a visit.

Dr. Patel had the best bedside manner of any ob-gyn I've ever had. She has always spent plenty of time with to understand my issues and is very sympathetic. She has offered me several solutions trying to avoid surgery, knowing I was not wanting to go that route. In the end, I DID require surgery, and results have been incredible. My recovery time was ridiculously sorry, and I had NO pain from the procedure. She is just such a sweet, skilled doctor.

Words can't express how grateful I am to Dr Patel and the staff at Phys for OBGyn. Through a stressful pregnancy due to previous miscarriages, they were there every step of the way & never made me feel that I had too many questions/concerns or that any of them were unimportant. I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Patel. She made me feel so informed and comforted throughout my pregnancy and especially during labor/delivery. I couldn't ask for a better Doctor, nurses, and staff to care for me.

Several reviews mentioned not understanding DO vs. MD. It was very simple to find the answer with a one-line Google search. I will post the explanation in a separate review.I chose Dr. Patel for my 15-year-old because she is a DO and evaluates the whole person, not just a specific body part. My daughter has very, very painful cramps. Dr. Patel met with both of us, asked extensive medical background questions and brought up points I hadn't considered. She prescribed a new medication, developed specifically for dysmenorrhea, which has enabled my daughter to at least function during her periods.I have now changed to Dr. Patel for my care and appreciate her attention to my medical background.Dr. Patel has advised my daughter and I toward the use of as few medications as possible, which I agree with.My daughter and I will continue to be her patients.
