Dr. Manjunath Mizar Pai, MD

I am a patient with a genetic heart defect called HCM. I was instructed by another cardiologists that I should have an ICD placed as a result. At this time, the information, and risk factors were not clearly defined by this doctor. As a result I stated that I will likely avoid getting an ICD. I was recommended to speak with DR. Pai, (whom installed my ICD) for further information. Dr.Pai fully explained my risk factors, percentages,, possible complications, the "what ifs", multiple deceive options, ect. He was also very informative for my wife who worried about me through this process. My passing of information to her was not detailed enough to comfort her going into the surgery. . Dr. Pai offered to explain it to her directly, and even gave his cellular number for her to call. Even the day after surgery, I was on a no food or water diet until Dr. Pai was able to look at my X-Rays the next morning. I figured it would be noon before I saw anyone. Dr. Pai had paid me a visit to see… how I felt, and check my X-rays before 9AM. The after surgery punctuality was not expected. Dr. Pai single handedly changed my outlook on having to have an ICD implanted, I would recommend him to anyone in my situation.
