Dr. Manjul Dubey Shukla, MD

Rude, condescending, and short tempered. Disparaged my husband, whom she had never met, and told me to stop saying nice things about and to him. Horrible experience.

I was Dr Shukla’s patient for over 20 years. I finally left her after she neglected my diabetes. She didn’t give much importance to the fact that my a1c was almost 10 and never called me with the blood work results. My sugar levels were so high and she told me to drink water. Put me on medication but didn’t monitored me.

Dr. Shukla met me with a "I am too old, i shouldnt have so many young patients" and a "my nurse likes to diagnose before i do, so we will just test you for lymes just to make her feel better". So, she started off with A. I dont want to be your primary care doctor and B . I undermine my nurses in front of my patients because I feel superior to them (even though the nurse was in the right direction). She blamed my adverse symptoms (muscle weakness, joint pain, spasms, chest pain, etc.) on my 2 tattoos, marijuana usage, and mental health. She brought up scars on my arms from 10 years ago (I'm 23) when I tried showing her a really odd rash that erupted around the time my symptoms did that was near them and completely deflected the conversation to the scars and my psychiatric health. She basically tested me for Hep and told me to find a psychiatrist. In the mean time she said she would call me when the results came up to figure out how to proceed from there - I had told her the… symptoms were so bad I couldnt work and couldnt do this in baby steps like that (told me the hep would take 1 week). She also said she would get the results of my x Ray's from my ER visit to st. Vincent's while we waited just to make sure when I brought them up. She never even called me when I got the results and when i asked her about the xrays she forgot about them and when she finally got them the next day and said they were normal she told me to wait until I had my physical which was 3 weeks later. She was dismissive, interruptive, arrogant and discriminative in multiple ways. It was an awful experience and left me very discouraged. I recommend Dr. Gilchrist.
