Extraordinary clinician who truly cares for his patients and really went the extra mile for a friend’s mother

I was diagnosed by another physician who I won't name but immediately felt uncomfortable with the care I was receiving and decided to read a few reviews. They were quite mediocre and hit on most of my complaints. I decided to transfer my care to SCCA and was assigned to Dr. Menon. I will say that the experience was night and day different. I was immediately impressed with Dr. Menon's personal approach to care. He took far longer than I expected to get to know me and to explain every aspect of my condition making sure I didn't have any unanswered questions. We have continued to build on this relationship and I am very comfortable with the care I am now receiving.

My husband was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma by Dr. Menon. The diagnosis of cancer always comes as a shock and it thrusts the patient and their family into a mad scramble to find solid ground. In dealing with the initial chaos of tests, endless questions and fear, we were fortunate to have a doctor who genuinely cares about his patients, recognizes that each patient is unique, and is amazingly gracious with his time to listen and to provide guidance and advice. We appreciate that Dr. Menon doesn't use a predetermined cookie cutter approach, but instead, is willing to think out of the box. The risks and benefits of various options are different for each patient and he clearly has the best interests of the patient when weighing these options, which he carefully explains. He is knowledgeable, accessible and very approachable. He is skilled at drawing the patient into the decision-making process. Our impression is that he is guided by his deep compassion for his patients.
