Dr. Manuel Ricardo Chavarri, MD

Under Dr. Chavarri, being treated for diabetes, under my blood work, I had an A1c score of 11.4. He did not discuss any of these results with me. Two months later, I was given more blood work. This time my A1c score came back at 6.5. It was a lot of hard, diligent work on my part. I called him twice to get help with low blood sugar. Dr. Chavarri's nurse, Christina, told me that i needed to take my 3 shots per day, even though my test was coming up very low, because, as she said, it would mess up the next day's results. Within about 4 weeks, I passed out at home and my family called 911. They took me to the hospital because my blood sugar was very low. The doctor on staff at the emergency room asked me, after learning about my A1c results, did your doctor lower your insulin? I told him no. In the end, that doctor lowered my insulin before I went home.(from 60/30/30 down to 40/20/20. If dr. chavarri did look at my test results and noticed my much lower A1c score became, he… would have lowered my insulin. I do not believe that he even looked at my blood tests. I did report this to his office in Ossineke. I had requested him to call me. He never called me. I also reported this to BCBS, part of my insurance. When I get my bill from the emergency room care and ambulance trip there, I am sure the bill will be very high. I was told that I almost died. I feel dr. chavarri should be made to pay this bill.
